A few from yesterday, pretty pleased with how they turned out. I'm still learning how to use the camera and get the exposure right. I think i should have used a tripod and lowered the ISO to 100 really but they're still pretty grain free at 250.

Nice shots, but I'm wondering what is that sculpture? it looks well weird

Thanks :). There is a better pic of the sculpture in the competition thread, just entered it for the lulz really :D. Its called the "singing ringing tree", it's right up on the hills where its mega windy and it whistles when the wind blows through the pipes.

really amazing photo it looks like its computer generated slightly. although did you process the image to looks blury around a single point? as the top part looks slightly blurred and out of focus and i think hinders the image while the left side should be blurred as i think the passage way alone (none blurred) would look a atd better ?? sorry to sound like a toff

nice on yarde, capturing tynemouth at its best !!!

Nice, how did you manage that?

It reminds me of the pic he posted of his computer and desk in here. I'm pretty sure hes done an HDR of the image in photoshop :)

EDIT :

Maybe not, just viewed the exif which you cant do after an HDR, well not with mine anyway. long exposure 20 seconds on f22 at ISO 100

Thanks for the comments. The place is indeed Meteora in Greece and was featured in the Bond movie 'For Your Eyes Only'. It is a stunning place and I was lucky enough to get the chance to go there at the end of a business trip. Sadly, time was tight and I was not there for the optimum times of the day for the best photographic light. The original shot is a RAW file so I may play around with the image to try and bring out more detail.

I've been looking around on here, and looking through some other photographers portfolio (but for the love of me i can't remember who's it was, GARH!) Anyway, he (i can remember that much) had put some water drops on a CD, so I thought i'd have a good, but seeing how i don't have a Macro lens for the D40, I thought i'd wip out the good ol' Fuji S5800 again, they're no where near as good as the ones i seen, but i still like them, i think number 3 is my fav...

I hope who ever it was that took the originals doesn't mind me having a go at taking my own
