It's not any different with Newcastle and I never said it was. :confused:

I'd think that it would be the same with most clubs, Liverpool fans would hate Gerrard if he went to Everton like Barca fans hated Figo when he left for Real.
 
i can understond bruce wanting to further his career too, but's not about that. it's about him walking out on his team (again) jus like he did at birmingham, sheff utd and crystal palace. if he was professional he wouldn't spit out his dummy when things don't go his way. lets be honest, were palacios, etc really going to stay at wigan? course not. as soon as a bigger team comes there off.

the 2 teams actually have a long history of players playing for both..bobby moncur captained both teams

a lot for sunderlands support comes from tyneside and some of newcastles support comes from county durham

Bobby robson isnt from tyneside..he's from sacriston in county durham
steve bruce is from corbridge..(would mke him a posh geordie)

and of course our last manager to win anything was a former newcastle player..bob stokoe, born in mickley, north of the tyne.

its only the most ignorant of knuckle dragging tribalists who believe that you cannot seperate your support of a club from your job.

to say he cannot love his boyhood club because he manages sunderland is childish..same as its pathetic that some sunderland fans wouldnt want him as a manger because he supported newcastle when he was a bairn...people really are blinkered by hatred up here...is more of a case of hating the other club more than supporting your own....cretins the lot of them
