**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Villa had to buy half a squad and even after that 45m Villa barely have one. Villa underinvested massively the years previous I wish people would realise this...

That makes no difference to the point i was making. Villa do have the transfer funds to try and bridge the gap.

Regarding the point you've just made; maybe that is the case but so did City and depsite what you think of Villa's squad, it is still stronger than City's.

SSN: Reports in Spain that Kaka has signed for Madrid in a 65M Euro deal.

SSN were reporting that he wanted to stay at AC, he didn't want to go anywhere.

Is there talking of Ancelotti wanting a couple of AC Milan players to follow him to Chelsea?

AC Milan have confirmed that they have had requests from large European clubs for Kaka and Pato. I wonder whos after Pato :p

^^ I think the point is that we had money to that extent because we didn't spend during Doug's last years as he was trying to secure a buyer with as much liquidity in the club as possible, and then MON arrived too late to spend any sort of budget in his first season.

Consequently, we had something of a transfer bonanza over a couple of transfer windows delayed from all this time - like a rollover, if you will. :)

There were also some financing deals Lerner did that freed up some quick cash, IIRC.

It doesn't mean we are suddenly a moneybags club in the way that Man City are, nor that we will continue to spend similar amounts of cash to the richest three or four clubs in the league from now on. We won't. This summer and future windows will confirm our status in the transfer league as solid but unspectacular spenders, I am certain of it.

Regarding Real Madrid, the deal has been closed at 65million euros and he will get 9million euros a season. It will be reported that the deal has broken down tomorrow but it will be announced officially next week that he has signed for Madrid. ' Allegedly'

Madrid will also go after C. Ronaldo, Ribery and Xabi Alonso and some others this summer. They have a bank roll of 300million euros to spend this summer.'Allegedly'

Edit... I've just heard the sources on talksport and the other signing's they wan't are David Villa, David Silva and Albiol !!!!

Why not ?

Perez is back in charge and he need's to apply the 'galactico' era again.

Remember, he can get big cash loans from banks in Madrid.

This is coming from top journalists in Spain.

They are saying this is what Madrid wan't to do, but they might not get all the players they wan't.But it looks like the money is there for them to do it.

Two big name left sided midfielders in one window? Seems unlikely, I guess they could be targetting both with the aim of bringing in only one.

I am sceptical of these reports also.

But it seems they are completely rebuidling the squad and are looking to sell the majority of the current first team players including Robben.

If reports are true and the bid has been made of 65m Euro's, then I can see them finally giving up on Ronaldo. Whether Kaka will go is another matter!

I'm glad Barry has gone, glad we got top money for him and wish him the best of luck. He was never going to stay and never pretended he was. We have Petrov, Sidwell and Reo-Coker who are more than competant to play in his position indeed, I think Sidwell was signed to replace him.

Now hopefully we can get a right back and a laursen replacement as well as a better squad centre half than knight. Bouma will be back for next season so the left side is less of an issue.
