**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

So Chelsea have entered the race for Kaka. Some serious money getting branded about for him. Im awaiting the £100m+ bid from City again :p

He is my favourite player in the world bar Scholes, I would love to see him in the Premiership even at Chelsea. It would be a joy to watch him week in, week out.

Similarly to Ronaldinho the other year, I'd love to see him play over here but in all honesty he's not playing nearly as well as he was a couple of seasons back.

Put Fabregas back in for 3 months and Arsenal might have won some of the draws, it's all relative. You can't say Arsenal haven't had bad luck too this campaign, at times the injuries really did take the ****

Also, Villa were tremendously lucky with injuries almost all of the campaign, as well as winning a lot of games that they really didn't deserve to win. Arsenal drew/lost a lot of games which they shouldn't have.

Lucky? Martin Laursen, our rock, and undoubtedly one of the best centre backs in the league was effectively ruled out from December. He has since retired. His absence sparked our decline in form.

Out talisman John Carew missed games aplenty with a back injury during the middle of the campaign, in a season when his scoring rate was impressive, and we lost Freddy Bouma for the whole campaign.

Bearing in mind the small size of our squad, I wouldn't call this lucky.

Personally, I think our season swung when we threw the two goal lead away at home to Stoke - we would've gone 8 points clear if we had hung on. We didn't - that's football.

Shame we didn't play Arsenal week in week out though - we would've won the league if that was the case ;)

It's crazy how people actually believe we've made a bid like that.
Chelsea won't spend half that on any player at the moment, there's simply no need.

Didn't you spend £150mill+ in one season once? I would'nt put it passed Chelsea to input a bid of that amount at all.

We really will not have. Especially on a player that age. I would welcome more signings like sturridge etc. Get some capable young blood in and buy a few famous youngerish players. I can see us spending 30mil etc on maybe a torres etc to start replacing Drogba, Ballack and the like. But 75 mil on a 27~ year old?

Probably but that was on at least 8 players and that's like saying Liverpool have spent £300m in the last 5 years so they're going to offer £150m for Villa. Irrelevant.

I just want to say that you wouldn't be able to buy Torres' left foot for £30m :p

Well not really if Abramovich wants to really win the CL...i reckon he might just be tempted to spend that much but then a few yrs back you spent silly money on Shevchenko who in turn became a major flop for you and you couldnt sell him back at a decent enough price.

Someone at my office was saying that Abramovich actually spoke to Kaka himself and said he wanted him...now not saying i believe that as i feel Kaka, if he was to go somewhere would be Real Madrid.

lol true, just saying that basically avery good already proven player who is also young may be worth us spending 30 Mill on. But with Kenyon and Ambromovich being tight :p we can't do too much of that atm

RA knows that you don't need to spend upwards of £70m on one player to win the CL, in fact anyone who knows anything about football knows that, or at least I thought so.

Your 2nd point should be in the other transfer thread below.

I love how there are no rumours of Deadly Diego Forlan. He had an unlucky spell with Manu, but since he went to La Liga he's been one of the best strikers around. If Perez had any sense he'd save the Kaka money, buy Forlan and spend the rest on a new defense.
