How can a speed limit for bikes be enforced when the majority of bikes don't have a speedo!
Or licence or reg numbers.

If it's full of people then you should not be cycling, instead walk maybe a seperate lane for bikes? If it's empty I don't see a problem.
I think a cycling speed camera is stupid, not many people have a speedo on thier bike and 10mph, you can run at that speed, might as well get off and run.
I've never been to Bournemouth's promenade but I'm guessing it's not a road but an area full of pedestrians on a sunny afternoon. Sure, 'speed cameras' are a bit extreme but requiring bikes to slow down in such an area isn't a bad idea.
Why shouldn't anybody be cycling?
As long as they are doing so in a safe manner then there's no problem, the speed limit is silly as you can ride like a tit at under 10mph
Dunno, I only skipped through the thread and replied to a few random postsYou're taking my comment out of context.

Common sense innit? But anyways, of course an accident at greater speeds will be more severe although i'm not convinced they are more likely to happen.
Common sense innit?

The Bournemouth Promenade is pedestrian, only a few years ago bikes weren't allowed to use it at all.
