**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Lets be honest he wont last half a season at madrid without a big fallout. He knows he's top dog, he's going to be bigger there and more idolised than he ever was here. I can't see it ending in anything but tears for whatever manager real have. Who is the current manager thats walked into all this money and having his players bought for him?

Whose side are they going to take the managers or the 80 million signing the first time he gets pouty.

That is all that is keeping me sane at the moment the fact that we could be unbeatable with the right signings.

There is the potential to be quite a bit better than this season, IMO. Ronaldo leaving, as a few people have mentioned, could result in Rooney getting back to his Euro 2004 best, so even if Ronaldo's replacement isn't as good as him (which is obvious) if the new guy can complement Rooney well the attack could be even better.

Another thing I thought today is that Ronaldo is worth nearly as much as the whole of Newcastle Football Club, slightly surreal :/

I know, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. :p

Valencia could do well if we can get him for 10m.

A half decent DM, I'm leaning towards Diarra, he ain't getting anywhere near that RM team soon.

Cover for Evra at left back a decent right back maybe and if Tevez goes we need a striker a proper goal poaching ****, like an RvN.

In fact **** it, give me the job, I'll do it.

Thats an interesting point you make there. One no doubt that will Whooosh right over Gustovs head and his paper team. At times last year it was plain to see he clearly did not want to be at Utd. So a question to any football fan really, would you prefer to have one of the worlds best players at your club who his have arsed about playing for you. Be that Messi, KaKa, Ronaldo etc.

Or would you want one of the top continental players like a Ribery, Aguero who isn't as good but would give you 110 % and as such the team as a whole plays better and is more balanced

A few pundits have raised the potential that Rooney will be less shackled next year and take a more free role akin to Ronaldo's at club level

For me, Real Madrid have got a bargain but there's nothing Sir Alex can do if he doesn't want to be there.

Whoosh :o

Woah £80mill for Ronaldo??...crazy money:eek:.

Now who was saying that Ronaldo was not going anywhere??:p...oh yes Ripper in the second post of this thread:p:D...

I know you were just using him as an example but Ribery has a reputation of being a bit of a tempremental ****.

I have only really seen highlights of him on Eurosport and he looks like to blow very hot and cold. Plus he's been at Bayern for two years and he wants out

He caused problems at Marseille and walked out on his previous club (albeit they paid his wages late so he had a get out clause).

I haven't seen a great deal (other than the odd set of highlights and european matches) for Bayern but I first saw him when he was a Galatasaray and you could tell he was class above everybody else on the pitch and then the same again at Marseille. Im not sure what his France performances have been like but domestically he's never really been tested in a top league.

From the games I saw last season Diarra was one of RM's better players. Real will play a DM for two reasons:

1: Because they will need too.
2: Because Zidane will Perez that they need too. Zidane is advising Perez atm and he was VERY vocal about the negative effect that selling Makelele had on the last 'galactico' team.

And if they do sell Diarra they will probably buy Mascherano...

well havent read the whole thread bu agree with gimp on the ronaldo thing i think its the best thing we have done to get rid, however i am a litle suprised by the deal.

£80million is a lot but is not what we should have been asking for.

It should have been a player plus cash deal because quite simply we will get shafted for a replacemen due to us having £80mill to spend.

RM have plenty of quality players who we could have asked for in exchange, something like sneider and robben plus £40 milll or something like that which would give us a replacementt for ronaldo and also a world class player as well.

then if Fergie signed Tevez we would have 3 world class players and change for ronaldo whioch would have been a superb deal, however till we sign someone now im not so sure.

howwever saying that this could allow the likes of nani to step out of ronaldos shadow as it were and start performing like he can.

shoudl be an interesting summer, however if we lose Ronaldo and Tevez id be gutted, if we lose ronaldo and keep tevez then so be it :)

I, personally would _love_ to see Franck Ribréy at United, just not at the quoted £65m+ price tag.

We could do with a good right back, a decent DM and a winger of some kind.

Valencia is constantly talked about, and i am going to assume that deal will basically be done.

As for the DM, or CM perhaps Fergie should consider either Moutinho or Veloso? As for someone to play RB, i'd love to see someone like Lahm come over to us, but i cant see that happening.

Ideal signings would be the following

Ribréy £50m + Benzema £30m

Valencia £15m + Young £25m + Pato £35m

But who knows what we will see, i hope he strengthens the squad in a few areas, though.

personally i dont think we need a new dm at all, depending on one thing Hargreaves.

if he is fully fi and injury free this season we will not be needing another DM, him fletcher, carrick, anderson, gibson, scholes and Giggs will be enough cover in the CM area.

what we need is at least one maybe 2 wingers, and a striker.

If we lose tevez tha willl leave us with only berba and rooney as proven strikers which is not enought o fight in all competitions.

Ribery for £65mill is a joke and not worth the money. Benzema again not sure whether hes worth it, Valencia maybe, young no Pato no.

Fergie will sign 2 or three players this summer, one of which hopefully will be tevez the other two need to be wingers imho :)

Times online and a few others are quoting that its £20m every summer for four years, rather than £80m now.

That will drastically cut SAF's spending power this summer.

It is also in a few papers this morning that SAF is pushing through the purchase of Valencia before this weekend for £17.5m rising to £22.5m (seeing as he cost £1m, thats huge rip off - £12m - 15m total and that would have been a good buy)

Tevez wont be coming back to Utd, so personally think we need a £20m DM and a striker more than we need full backs and if Nani goes along with Frazier then another winger would be great (although Welbeck looks handy out wide)

I read yesterday that Welbeck has been transfer listed - I think the article has it wrong though , as I thought it was Gibson, Manucho and Campbell who where listed and not Welbeck (especially as SAF thinks Danny should have a big role in the World Cup next summer)

His salary will start at £9.5 million a year, rising 25 per cent annually to a staggering £29 million — or just over £557,500 a week — in the final year. He stands to earn up to £107 million
Sickening

OTHER GOSSIP
Liverpool are hopeful of securing a £350m refinancing loan to after vowing to pump more money into the club.

AND FINALLY
Out-of-favour Manchester United winger Nani says he is the the man to replace World and European player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo.

Some of that is absolutely laughable :D

mostly this bit
"Out-of-favour Manchester United winger Nani says he is the the man to replace World and European player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo. "

if he is getting an extra 100mill i would expect a good couple of world class players to join.

as a fan, i would rather not resign tevez and get someone new. if berb does nothing this year then get rid next window. main thing i want to see is rooney as striker again.
