**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

He spoke up yesterday :p and he is completely right apart from the every day part ;)
Ok ok, I only read it today :p.

He's exactly right there, it's annoying when one teams owners are willing to go into huge debt to be the best, it isn't how it should be
I don't quite see why football is allowed to get away with it. Any other company unable to service it debt would be shut down and sold off.

Not that anyone here particuarly cares. :p

But going by Harry's quotes and various other things, it would appear Spurs are trying to wrap up a high profile transfer this Summer. Who it is though is anyones guess.

I don't understand why people are getting their knickers in a twist over this issue of the transfer fee. Football is big business now. The fee is not £80m debt creation, it could be worth anything 4,5 hell even ten times that in terms of merchandising.

It's reported Ronaldo retains 50% of his image rights. So anything he endorses, RM get half of it. Effectively Nike are paying half of their sponsorship to a team wearing Adidas. FIFA 10 and Pro Evo are due another revisions this year, would you bet against Ronaldo being on one cover and KaKa on the other. Remember that for every unit of these games that are sold with Ronaldo, or KaKa on the front RM get money for nothing.

Now add in KaKa to the equation and possibly 2x a.n.other's and regardless of the transfer fee's the money will be paid back many many many times over. It's damn good business by RM. Not only is the £80m fee guaranteed, they are doing it on the drip over four years and have taken two of the most marketable talents away from their closest rivals in european football.

RM arent going to go into debt (as it seems they are funded by the royal family) - I still think its wrong for them to buy or try and buy all the best players, but at some point as a selling club you have got to say "**** it, thats a decent profit on someone who wants to leave anyway, and who is starting to become a pain in the neck (to put it politely lol)"

If you meant Man Utd - then you have to blame the majority of investors for saying "yes" to putting the club in debt, thats how the stock market works, its the system at fault rather and it will always be the case unfortunately

RM were in 500m Euro's debt a year ago, I imagine that just climbed to over 600m

I can't imagine Real will even contemplate selling Diarra. They need to strengthen their defence, taking out their DMC won't get them anywhere.

From the beeb

1455 BST: Atletico Madrid say the club will now listen to "interesting offers" for star forward Sergio Aguero. Argentine Aguero has been linked with both Chelsea and Manchester United. (French radio station RMC)

God yes! One of the few players to genuinely lift me from the depression about Ronny going

Van Nistelrooy would be an excellent signing for Spurs. Harry wants a few of your forwards out anyway. Bringing in a proven goal scorer for what will be buttons is a very good deal.
