hmm, i gonna download the free trial of LOTRO while i sleep, i love lord of the rings in general, but im a big wow player, and by the looks of quite allot of people playing LOTRO, that could be the game to take me away from wow, we will see
But atm the game im playing is WoW, 209 Ingame Days played alltogether, and i started playing just over a year ago, Sad ****
But if im honest i wish my mate never invited me to this game, honest truth. i was a big FPS gamer before this with my mate, we did the trial just to see what the fuss was about, bored the **** out of us, but we kept playing. i do miss FPS's though
so much, the old clan and scrimming side of online fps gaming, i say it to him every single day, and he says the same, we have 2 level 80s each and a load of low levels, and we still say the game is **** , we will never know the truth, Blizzard are drug lords.

LOTRO is a great game I really enjoyed playing it....but I when I was playing it I always thought I should be playing WoW. Don't know why really, maybe it's due to the age of my PC and it struggling to run it with any decent settings, but I always found the WoW game world more immersive.

LOTRO - Brilliant game with a great online community.
You might want to look into Mortal Online, it's being developed by a group of Swedish UO fans and frankly looks promising. Going into beta soon tooso get your name down!
I've already signed up for the forums and requested for the beta, but i doubt ill get it. I hope it has that community focus of UO, like i said before i dont really know the state of play with mmos at the mo anyway.
World of Warcraft again, really enjoying it Ulduar is great. Did hard mode Iron Council the other day.
Nothing really touches WoW at the moment, not a chance. This is judging from around 4 other MMO's I have played. Warhammer and Age of Conan were particularly bad.

EVE Online atm and i've just started to play Daimonin again after about 18 months away, its only a small MMO but fun.
If I didnt have 3 accounts active on EVE id probably play City of Heroes\Villains again, still the most fun ive had in an MMO by miles.
Played OU for a month, I think it was in its first year or 2, never renewed the sub as I was on 56k connection at the time and couldent justify the sub costs, this is the only MMO i regret not getting into as the month that I did play was fantastic.
Played WoW for 18-24 months, will never go back to it, its ruined, hated the fact that lvls 50-60 were broken when it came to instances.

Focus, buff, heal, random dps can do ML10, i farm it on mid devon quite frequently (and profitably!) Rest of ML's can be done with sheild tank, PBAE and heals (except maybe Katorii on ML7)

And to excuse the bump of this thread, things are happening again in daoc and oddly enough the most info can be found on the facebook page for it

Removing clustering and dumping to one server is the biggest, fixing LA, fixing installer, come back to camelot campaign etc etc.

I jumped back in with WOW. Got invited by a friend but as he was a L80 I soon found some new friends in game.
I am really enjoying it at the moment but I am a little disappointed that the instances are a bit too easy and they have made the bosses weaker. Used to be a sense of achievement when you took a boss down but I dont even worry about the side getting wiped.
So the only complaint is that I wish it were harder.

Got bored of most of the mmo around. Even tried that free mmo wow clone, Runes of Magic, which is not bad for a free game but could not keep me playing. After being burned out on Wow, I tried LOTRO and I must say it was really good, the lore and the game was deep but I got bored at around level 26.
I hear people playing DAOC and that brings back good memories. Do you guys play EU servers? Is it viable? I'm wondering about getting back to the game I must have a few 50 laying around, I think I must even have a powerlevel team left
Also I was thinking about trying the City of Heroes trial, I did not see a single comment about it in this thread what do people think about it?

So they are already destroyed WAR as it is, most the war players are DAOC palyers who rather DAOC. Now they area ll goig to go back :/

The english UK servers are dead, totally. I think the french and german ones are still in full swing though.
There are an awful lot of euro people playing on the USA servers currently which makes for a very nice rolling population with almost no quiet times and also means you dont have to group or play with the, generally speaking, BAD usa players - just merely roll them
WAR failed on so many accounts, and your right that a lot of the WAR population are ex daoc players who were lured there by the promise of a comparable end game to daoc. It failed to deliver. WAR is failing, look at the amount of servers they have closed already, i dont see it being long lived at all.
The net benifit of this, however, is that DAOC is getting some development again, the population is increasing daily and, most of all, they migrated the servers onto new hardware recently which has improved the game no end (It was 2nd hand hardware really, some of the WAR servers that were shut down!)
Also with the removal of clustering and migration to a new 'super server' called Ywain for standard ruleset play I think things are only set to improve for the 8man / alliance style of play - It will, however, make soloing or small manning pretty difficult
Theres a lot of life left in it yet basically, and if your lookign for a mmo with decent end game that doesnt involve bashing mobs in a random instance then daoc is it

sounds good but after the ignorance displayed in WAR id never go for another mythic game again tbh. I dont expect an MMO to come out polished, i expect it to come out playerble and for them to not actively try and make it worse lol. I was a beta tester and there were so many bugs from beta that were still in several patchs after release. EU constnatly gets the shaft as well. Like american users can do a free week "trial" on their old account again, americans can get differnt mounts and other bonus's for getting new people to join. Infact it worked out that if you made several other accounts and paid for them youd get the money back in free game time given and some cool new mounts so you effectively got the mounst for free for creating fake accounts. Plus of course just the general stupidity of GOA.
Its a pitty, i dont really understand theese dev's of all theese failed MMO's i mean seriously. Where did they see it working? I know its always easy to claim things after they happen. But take for instance the latest patch they were trying to push through when i unsubbed for the second time. Just nerf every characters AOE across board beause there were 4 out of 12 characters which were definitly too powerful in aoe. Where is the god damn logic in that? its lazy and it totaly ruined the game in the patch testing. Then they increased single target damage and anti armour to the point where a tank's armour was now useless as all dps enermys could spam 50-100% armour reduction attacks and they got a boost in damage. Where the hell was the logic in that either?
When i left everyone was screaming how they were ruining the game completly with that patch. Doesn't take a genious to think ooo 4 characters have OP aoe. Lets nerf them and not all of them.
They gave 10ft cone aoe What the hell? What can you do with that, the single attacks are 5ft. Not to menchen that in RVR the game comes to a stand still and effectively you have to aoe just to hit a target.
O and they also didn't fix the worst bug in the game. Allowing bright wizzards, the most powerful damaging class in the game, to instant cast and spam some of their attacks dealing huge damage because they found a way to get past global cool down. Allowing a bright wizzard to destroy you. Mythic claim they cant reproduce it so it doesn;'t exist. Sigh. Been there since beta.
All i learnt from WAR is taht mythic fail and don't understand how to test games. I cant see DAOC being such a huge contast to the level of stupidity mythic displayed in WAR and the terribel game mechanics which all need redoing. So i cant see it being that much better really.
