**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

I was going to merge Tummy's posts in to one but thought it would be more fun to see what happened if I merged his drivel with yours:p

No offence of course;)

He's played about 5 games, maybe started 2 of them and was called up to the England senior squad a few months ago so that might be why you've heard of him.
He's the reason why Chelsea fans won't be that bothered by losing Carvalho, he'll be a great CB in the future:)

Unless he has more moments like that :p

I think I've seen him play a game for Chelsea ? can't remember.

How old is he ?
Carvalho deffo going to Inter then ? Deco ?
Can't say you'll miss Deco, but Carvalho was and is a great center back. Alex is also fantastic :)

He's 21 and although Carvalho's still a great player he's getting on a bit and his knees are packing up, he's just always injured:(

He's almost begged JM to take him to Inter so he'll probably go and hopefully Deco ***** off too.

cross thread quoting?

I moved it here;)

Here's a question for Liverpool fans: if you were in Benitez' shoes, and had the option of either spending £40 million on Villa alone, or spending it on Johnson and a winger (whoever you want that is "available" - Valencia, Silva, whatever), which would you pick?

I think given the 6+5 rule, I would go for Johnson and then an english winger. Someone like Young or Lennon. As much as I would love to see Villa and Torres at Liverpool, I cant see where the english contingent will come from in order to meet the ruling. Even taking the first phase of it (4+7), currently we are hard pushed to field 4 decent English. So I would be looking to strengthen the english contingent, preferably younger english players who will last several seasons.

Id have Carrick at Liverpool. The service behind the bar at half time has been shockingly slow.

If he can boss the bar as well as he can run ManU's midfield then he has a job for life.

Can someone remind me of who has won the Premiership the last 3 years on the trot? What team has just made two successive Champions League Finals not to mention the Semi Finals the year before that?

You wouldn't have guessed it was Man Utd who's Right Backs are either crap going forward or cant defend to save their lives or in the case of all of them bar maybe Wes Brown who was only played their due to injuries both. Oh that not to mention our weak as water midfield with Carrick who's no good defensively or in attack so surely must just be generally rubbish all round oh that's without noting that he's just in the team covering for a player that was signed a year later than him.

And dont let me forget about the dead wood that is Scholes, Giggs, Anderson, Park & Nani and general crapness of Tevez and Berbatov.

Come on dont let me down I'm sure someone out there can come up with a perfectly reasonable argument why Rooney should stop playing football as well.

All the above I would expect from rival supporters who cant see past the biased of their own club but the so called Man Utd supporters on this thread and probably among the most spoilt glory hunting idiots I've ever had the misfortune of wasting my time reading their opinions on.

Rant over
