**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Villa has stated that he has made his decision on where he will be playing next season and now it is down to his agent to sort it out.

Looking forward to seeing him and Silva line up with Torres and Gerrard next season ;)

Really?

Personally I'm looking forward to him and Valencia linking up with Rooney and Berbatov ;)

Reina is a top keeper, along with Cech their strongest years are still ahead of them. I'd have either of them at Old Trafford in a heartbeat now VDS is reaching the end of his career. It makes a real difference having a settled keeper that you know will easily spend the next 10yrs at your club. We haven't enjoyed that sort of comfort since Schmeichel.

Agree. He's always given the impression he wants to stay in Spain so it's either Barca or Real for me.

But we do have the money to spend £15mil on a RB? I dont know, I think Rafa has a tasty pot and all this press over his small treasure chest in the market could be a defensive ploy, a possible excuse for not being bent over by other clubs when entering negotiations?? I dont know, If think if Rafa wanted Villa, the Yanks would help him out, albeit he would be strapped for cash for other positions.

Honestly, if Rafa was at Man Utd or Chelsea or Man City he would have had everything wrapped up considering there transfer kittys per season. He's been working on shoe strings for years, poor fella.

Don't make me dig out the spends over the last 5 years :/

Or financial Barry will turn up, I'm sure that kid knows more about Liverpool's money than the fat Spanish waiter.

Personally I really rate Reina, he still tends to make those most horrific of mistakes every now and again the types of errors that to be honest the likes of Casillas, Buffon and dare I say Van Der Sar don't make but as for pulling of the most amazing of saves I think he's one of the best

Probably the best keeper in the league IMO

All keepers are prone to mistakes tbh, even VDS had a dodgy patch a while back,Buffon is class tho, must help having an Italian defence infront of you tho.

Reina is a good keeper and is one of the best at distribution.
He is not faultless however (and neither is VdS, who IMO has looked shaky at times).

Valdes is being a bit greedy if the above is true, £150k/week is a lot for an uncapped player. Only got one year on his contract so probably feels he can hold his club to ransom, if I were them I'd tell him where to stick it and splash the cash on someone better.

Barca are no mugs, I cannot see them being held to ransom by an average keeper. Would'nt suprise me if Pepe wants to speak to them if they do/have come calling for him. Didn't his father play for them?

Alas as with most of these articles are large amount of the above never made it past the reserves

Financial Barry. :D hahahaha

That should actually be his username! ;) *hint* *cough* *Gilly* *cough*

(Sorry Baz) :p

Even if those figures are correct I don't think that net spend is that bad considering it's over 5 years and the total amount we paid for each of the players that are first team members is more than £83 million.
