Agreed.
Because we chose a career path that is there to help & support our communities, not me someone else rich. And get paid a lot less than the private sector for the priviliege
Same, but I think your request will fall on deaf ears.
do you have any examples of that happening?
When I broke my leg I was given 4 weeks off on full pay & 2 weeks on 1/2 pay.
Those idiots in parliament need culling for starters
MW
& that justifies me & every other householder paying towards your pension does it ?
are you really that naive?
lets think about this:
you give tesco money for food, they use part of that to fund their pension scheme.
you give the government money for providing hospitals/schools/defence etc, they use part of that to fund their pension scheme.
both provide a service, if you don't like the service, you don't buy tesco, you vote for someone else, its pretty simple to me.
The government is a business just like anything else, therefore they will pay pensions/bonuses like other businesses. It can't run as a charity.
But tthis is in place of higher wages. You've also forgot to mention the fact that public sector pensions are massively more costly than private ones, if they were being run like any other business, this would have changed by now, but when you don't have to justify your spending, and can force people to pay, efficiency always goes out of the window.
.

Public sector work is generally less pay sometimes considerably. But they get more Holliday and a better pension.
If you try and take their benefits a way. Expect public sector workers wages to rise dramatically.

Fine, pay me the going rate for private sector workers doing my job. Bet you'd moan about paying that aswell.
