Apparantly Johnson is on Merseyside today for his medical with Liverpool

The bad news is that Alonso is reportadly refusing to commit his future to the club

I would be unhappy to see Alonso leave us, but if we can get a good price for him and put that money towards Silva and/or Villa I would be very happy indeed.

I think the story of Alonso refusing to commit his future is bordering on made up. He said he could not answer, because he has already said everything. And the last time he spoke out, he said he was happy at liverpool and would be staying unless the club wanted to sell him.

Well, we had him on loan since January, and he didn't get fit enough in that time to play (well he did, but got injured again). I'd say every club needs a gamble player, and i'd say hes probably it. Still only 20. We're also being linked with Michael Owen, still...can't see him coming this far south though.

Aye I thought he was second best after Sagna without any clear candidate behind him. I have to say I was very surprised by all of this.
