**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

The thing is though, if you were a player like Tevez who seems to run his socks off most games, would you be happy being sat on the bench sometimes while Berbatov is mincing about with his hands on hips? Sure Berba is a very skilled player and certainly looks the biz when minnows are getting creamed 4-0 at OT in August, but can you seem him leading a fightback at Anfield or Stamford bridge in the winter?

Hi there,

It's not £35 000 000..... yes you've already shelled out £10 000 000, but if you don't buy him for £25 000 000 it's not like you get the initial £10 000 000. So the question you should ask is surely, "is he really worth 25 million?"

;)

No.

The £25.5m fee is a knocked down fee as we had already paid £10m, whoever buys him will probably be shelling out more than £30m to get him.

Hi there,

No.

It would be 35.5 million as an outlay on one player.

Yes it would, but that's still irrelevant, because the £10m has already been spent. As mentioned you can't get that money back, so there is absolutely NO difference from buying Tevez for £25.5m or buying any other player for £25.5m. It just means that MU have a chance to get a 'bargain' (depending on what you value Tevez at) at a knock-down fee. That £10m was basically a loan-arrangement fee.

I completely understand situation but it still doesn't deter from the fact it would be 35.5 million pound spent on one player.

Sheesh.

They're making more sense than you dude. You'd 'only' be paying £25m for him, the £10m was for the loan.

Have to say I was surprised to read that he's officially leaving but hey ho 25 million was a lot to spend on a player who based on last season would have been playing second fiddle to Berbatov and Rooney

So we now need a winger and a striker without a doubt....

Oh and what's all this talk of Keane leaving Spurs? Where the hell has that come from?

Rumours from The Lane. Being said that Harry isn't exactly happy with his performances and he was ignoring tactical instructions.

Don't believe it anyway. Those it's coming from are known to be anti-Keane.

Ah, that explains why he's ruled out Liverpool then. :p

Apparently, Tevez hasn't ruled out Liverpool. Heard Kia on Sky sports news this morning saying "it would be a tough decision but he hasn't ruled it out and we havn't said it's a two horse race - Chelsea and Man City"

Still a chance? Pretty dissapointed with some of the news that are being linked to us now.

Cant see where any striker would fit in at Liverpool, you're never going to play 2 up with Gerrard in midfield for any prolonged amount of time - Rafa aint got the balls for it ;)

Regardless of the money spent on him or what was require to sign him, I'd have done and had it sorted by now. He's worth the money!

I know syke said on MSN to me he isnt worth it, you only have to been in the stadium to hear the cheer when he comes on or scores. Infact just mentioning his name and the crowd goes wild...

This must be the first time Fergie/Club have gone against the fans in not landing a player so idolised, unless you football historians can differ.

He's a legend in my eyes and I'll miss that dude! :(

Tevez is a good player but I think that the united players dont adore him for his talent but for his attitude and workrate. There hasnt been a game that he has played in where he hasnt run around like a blue arsed fly. Unfortunately his finishing isnt grade A and he has missed some chances that a player of his reputation should score.

Im a man utd fan but im not too sad to see ronaldo and tevez go. I think that united need to take a step back and try and build a team that plays great football rather than one that replies on a few key players. Barcelona gave us a lesson in football in the CL final. We got taken to pieces and our star players couldnt make a difference.

I would like to see us sign some players that will make the team better, not players that will win the game on their own. We have loads of young talent and I think we should push that through. Take a season where we might not win much and rebuild stronger.

Overall for one player the outlay would have been 35.5 million

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh

O/T Are you off to the secret doo tonight?
