**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Liverpool left-back Fabio Aurelio looks set to miss the start of the season after damaging his knee playing football with his children. The 29-year-old is facing the prospect of surgery and several months on the sidelines, so the Reds are hanging on to Andrea Dossena despite interest from Juventus.

What the hell? Is this guy made out of putty or something? :(

does DM ever talk any sense ?

If he actually bothered to watch any Utd game in the last two seasons anyone would be able to see that Ronaldo takes 90% of free kicks, and invariably goes straight for goal, even if there are (often) better choices, and in general CR probably takes about the same percentage of goal shots in open play

If that isnt selfish I dont know what is

and seeing as Rooney got 17 goals last season mainly playing on the left, I dont see why he couldnt 20 - 25 playing centrally for the whole season (and according to 4thegame neither got even 7 assists - thats what the table goes down to - so even if they are barely off the charts, to reckon on getting 3 or so more isnt that much at all playing in the right position)

So yeah Rooney getting over 20 goals a season ISNT far fetched at all iuf he can play centrally - it just depends on where SAF puts him and who is behind /around him

Rooney has scored 20 goals or above for united in 2 out of the last three seasons, and scored above 15 goals a season, (despite spending large periods of time out injured in his last three seasons, since he signed. (in all comps)

Thats not bad for a non scoring, played out of position striker.

In fact, if I read the wikepedia stats correctly he is SO bad, he has consistently outscored Van Perise, and has outscored the "unplayable" Drogba every season bar one, and this years top scorer in the league, Nicholas Anelka every season bar this one.

And before we get into the "apps vs goals" debate, if the player is unavailable to play, tough, its the whole package what use is a player if he cant play.

Rooney has also scored more international goals than Christano Ronaldo as well.

Ronaldo is irreplaceable man for man but I hope that fergie wont replace him with 1 player but with 2-3 which will make up for his loss. As mentioned, if he scores 2 goals then he will have had plenty of shots and taken some that he could have passed and we might have scored with other players.

Boo hoo, I get bored of people talking crap. Ronaldo is selfish, gets no assists, never defends and is easily replaceable according to....... mostly UTd fans who can't admit the team will be weaker without him in all likelyhood after buying new players and at this particular second with no replacements is massively weaker.

Every player is replaceable, thats what happens in football.

Beckham was irreplaceable.
Cantona was irreplaceable.
Best was irreplaceable.
:o

They say players are irreplaceable all the time, they lie.

Ronaldo leaving, could be a blessing in disguise, No one player is bigger then the club.
Manchester United, are going to move on, replace him, bring through new young players.

It's what happens in football. Players come and players go, clubs stay.

As individuals though they are irreplaceable, there is no better player than Ronaldo at the moment meaning he is irreplaceable. However you can buy three players with the 80m whereas three is better than one ;)

Yeah, you can't replace Ronaldo as an individual. I'm fed up with Ronaldo and Tevez talk. Tevez continues to burn bridges with the Utd fans with the tripe he's spouting. I want to see Ferguson signing new players and soon.

Baz - I'm sure Portsmouth are no fools, Johnson and success clauses? hehehe :D :p
