**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Do people genuinely think that bendtner is good enough to be one of arsenals main strikers. Oh and having 50 strikers doesnt mean that you dont need lots of them to be good strikers.

What is the difference between arsenal, man utd, chelsea and liverpool. All 4 apart from arsenal have got at least one very good striker who sticks in a lot of goals. Im sure bendtner is plenty good enough though ;)

I have watched arsenal on at least 15 occasions this year, not all of them he featured in but when he did he looked poor. His main area that needs work is his finishing.

Bendtner isnt a rubbish player, sorry if that got your back up but seriously, he is rubbish compared to the club he is at and some of the players around him. I like watching arsenal, hate wenger but love the way they can play but bendtner is sub par.

Can you think of any of the top 4 who would play him at all, even as a reserve?

We scored as many goals as Chelsea and Manu last season. Thats not where the problem is. We are absolutely fine up front Bendtner or not.

Rubbish and poor respectively.

i wouldn't say rubbish and poor but they are no where near stars yet. where as aguero, pato and benzema are highly regarded around europe by everybody.

in all honesty i dont see either of them at the moment being first choice for man u off of what ive seen. but they are young and have time on there hands. But Man U need to bring somebody who can bring goals at the front and Aguero, and Benzema offer this as they have top level experience. Lets hope they can seal the deal for either.

Meh, we'll see I suppose, he's only 21. How many first choice strikers are there at top clubs who are 21?

Bendtner isn't first choice is he. I thought Robin and Abe were Arsenal's first choice strikers.

He's only 21.

Balotelli
Bojan
Pato
Vela
Aguero
Agbonlahor
Vaughan
Higuain
Menez
Giovinco

Off the top of my head are all strikers 21 or under, who I'd take over him.

I assume from your response that you don't agree, but Welbeck has been nothing short of appalling when I've seen him and Macheda scored some decent goals but the most acclaimed was a hit and hope.

Surely that could be said of almost every spectacular/long range goal? To dismiss the quality in the goal is rather stupid to be honest

As for Welbeck being appalling A- that's harsh considering his age and the fact that he's only just learning his craft so to speak. Not to mention at the start of last season no one would have even considered the possibility of him getting any first team action bar the odd sub appearance in the Carling Cup let alone the contribution he did end up making and B- you obviously didn't see him against Spurs in the FA Cup when he was without doubt MOTM playing from the right hand side. You must have also missed the FA Cup goal against Derby which also showed great talent.

Spectacular/long range goal? I'm pretty sure the one I was thinking of was in the box and was just swung at on the turn :/

I agree, I've not seen anything in much from Welbeck or Macheda, I've been more impressed by Gibson

They're still very young, and a good couple of years off. I hope they improve and use the time wisely between now and say, their 21st birthday.

At last, someone else who thinks Macheda isn't the next best thing since sliced bread. I'll make my mind up on the lad after he's had 2 full seasons and not the 2 games the media bang on about whenever his name appears!
