Haven't they just bought a CB from Ajax? So that's him, Toure and Gallas and the other backup guys too.
I'd rate RvP higher too, by a long way. Eduardo has played very few games and before he broke his leg he wasn't exactly on top form either, scored a couple of nicely taken goals but had missed a few sitters too. When he gets a full season under his belt we'll be able to see. That being said he's still a starter next to RvP for me.
Ade was excellent the previous season, i think he started thinking he was better than he was and just didn't put the effort in. If he can buck his ideas I'd still have him as 3rd choice although I'm not hugely fussed if he leaves. Bentdner is better on the ball and more energetic than Ade but he seems very wasteful in front of goal. He's not very effective as a lone target man either considering his height.
Vela is going to be godlike soon, prob not this season but by the next one I'm sure he'll be a starter.
Apparently Gilberto has told Melo to come to Arsenal if we are interested, only saw glimpses of him during the confed cup so not sure how good he is at all.
Still require a DMC and a proper goalscorer that stays fit though.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has reiterated his interest in Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano.
The Argentine is highly rated by the UEFA Champions League, Primera Liga and Copa del Rey winners as they look to reinforce ahead of the defence of an unprecedented Treble.
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is desperate to hold onto the defence-minded Mascherano, who is an international team-mate of Barcelona star Lionel Messi, and insists he is not for sale at any price.
But Laporta, who handed holding midfielder Yaya Toure a new contract on Saturday, remains a fan of the 25-year-old, and could yet consider making the Premier League Reds an offer.
He told icat FM: "Mascherano is a close friend of Leo Messi. We will see what happens. He's a player I like very much."
Mascherano has previously confessed he is uncertain if his long-term future lies on Merseyside to increase speculation he could leave Anfield when his contract expires.
Real Madrid have also been linked with the ex-West Ham, River Plate and Corinthians player as the Bernabeu giants continue their lavish summer spending.
Do people genuinely think that bendtner is good enough to be one of arsenals main strikers. Oh and having 50 strikers doesnt mean that you dont need lots of them to be good strikers.
What is the difference between arsenal, man utd, chelsea and liverpool. All 4 apart from arsenal have got at least one very good striker who sticks in a lot of goals. Im sure bendtner is plenty good enough though
I have watched arsenal on at least 15 occasions this year, not all of them he featured in but when he did he looked poor. His main area that needs work is his finishing.
Bendtner isnt a rubbish player, sorry if that got your back up but seriously, he is rubbish compared to the club he is at and some of the players around him. I like watching arsenal, hate wenger but love the way they can play but bendtner is sub par.
Can you think of any of the top 4 who would play him at all, even as a reserve?
Bendtner will be a great striker one day. He has so many attributes to his game which are very promising, his link up play is quite frankly awesome,
He is fantastic in the air and has scored many a vital header.
Just seen a stat on SSN.
Man U score more goals when its just Rooney in the team rather than Rooney and Ronaldo or Ronaldo on his own.
Always said Rooney was Man U's best player.![]()
That stat has been quoted by abptx many a time fella. Old news.
Doesn't make it any less true and atpbx is right.
I would be more than happy to be proved wrong but there has been no apparent evidence that he will improve 100% and become a decent player worthy or Arsenal. You need a drogba, anelka, torres or rooney if you want to challenge for the title. Can you ever see him becoming that.
Wenger is a decent manager as far as I can see but I dont think he has had many options when bendtner has played. Hes not first choice even for arsenal.
Meh, we'll see I suppose, he's only 21. How many first choice strikers are there at top clubs who are 21? Benzema? Aguero? Short list ..
Edit - Forgot Pato!
