**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

You think he'll be getting sub £30k per week? I'd be very suprised if he was getting less than £50k and then a further £50k based on appearances etc.

Yeh he wont be getting paid more than Berbatov or Vidic i would'nt have thought, conditions for the transfer must have been he's willing to take a pay cut.

I'm not impressed by micheal Owen signing.
On the one hand, he will most likely score more league goals than Tevez did last season, but on the other hand, he wont offer anything else.

And Tevez for all all the negative comments, was brilliant for us when he played, and it was only when he was dropped for the lazy Bulgarian that his performances fell away.

i think Owen is a good signing for us,its not like he is going to cost us a fortune, and like most signings that leave Newcastle, they do much better at a different club.I think he will be as good as when we had Larsson. Then if he scores one goal against Liverpool then thats made him worth every penny

Tevez' work rate was second to none at times which really impressed me to be honest.

Owen won't offer that... but he would offer a presence in the 6 yard box and get more poachers goals for us.

I wouldn't mind us getting Fabiano, I was impressed with him during the Confederations Cup.

Manu's owners must be gutted no one wants to take the rest of the 80 million from them. May as well sit on that money now til next season and wait for madrid to spend up this year and get some better bargains next year?

to be honest i'm coming around to that way of thinking. maybe a few youngsters, but keep a good bit back.

A lot can happen in 12 months in football, back in the summer of 2006 when we lost Ruud and Keane and only brought in Carrick who'd of thought 12 months on we'd be signing Tevez? Anderson was a relative unknown and shock signing, only Nani had been touted throughout that season as a possible summer arrival.

We wont panic buy, we never have. We've lost out on Benzema sure but Fergie would rather just go into next season with what we've got rather than spend on players who aren't right for the team which is why Costa aside I doubt we'll be signing anyone else this summer

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez feels that 'two more signings' will complete his overhaul at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Real supremo has already landed Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Raul Albiol as part of his bid to rebuild the 'Galacticos' era.

Lyon striker Karim Benzema's move to the Spanish giants is on the brink of being completed, with the club already including the Frenchman on their website's squad list.

Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso continues to be linked with a switch to Real, and Perez has stated that he has "until August" to acquire his services.

Perez told Cuatro: "I think that with two more signings we will have renewed the squad."

However, Perez appears defeated in his bid to land Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery, with the Bundesilga club adamant the France international will not be sold.

He added: "That is the reality right now."

So it seems a matter of time before Alonso joins and I guess it'll be Arbeloa who will be the final one

Looking like two likely purchases. I cant begrudge Alonso the move to be honest, if I was him I think I'd go for it too. As long as we use the money we get from Alonso and Arbeloa wisely, I'm happy.
