**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

pfft, free innit.

my sentiments exactly. anybodys worth a shot on a free especially somebody like him, i haven't rated him for a long time but even im willing to see how he does for us. could be that missing link they've needed.

still need to buy some other players tho, right back, and giggs/scholes replacement.

I am still kind of surprised at the move to be honest. I just always assumed that he would sign for Everton. I know they were interested, and its his boyhood team and all. Really didnt see the whole Utd move coming.

Just looks so weird in that photo, seems odd to see him wearing a Utd shirt.

He does doesn't he - I'm quite enthusiastic about the signing myself, even if only because how much it is annoying Liverpool fans :)

Go on RAWK or TLW and see how annoyed they are ;)

The majority of Liverpool fans didn't like Owen much when he was with us let alone since then.

It............just..........looks.............sooooo........wrong.

I know....

Because its last season's shirt, right?

:p

No risk signing for Man Utd. If he does well, then he's a bargain. If he doesn't, well then he was free!

Low risk, not no risk, unless he only gets paid when he scores goals which I somehow doubt :)

ie. even if he's 'only' on £25k a week, that's still £1.3 million a year he's costing. Not a lot in football terms but not free.

wont we get abit back on shirt sales and merchandise ect

Nope. How do you get revenue back on NIL sales :p.

If I see any Utd fan and I mean ANY utd fan wearing a shirt with Owen on the back I will punch him right in the man berries, 7 year old or 70 year old. You have to set your standards somewhere :mad:The funny thing is, Liverpool fans know this is wrong, Utd fans know this is wrong, for once we are in a weird kind of agreement.

BTW Chelsea completed the signing of Daniel Sturridge today, but they still can't agree a compo fee with Man City, who ridiculously want £10m.

The tribunal will probably end up splitting the difference, around £4-£5m or so.
He's a great prospect but I'm not sure where that leaves Di Santo.
