**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Could be quite funny the first game he plays at Old Trafford.... then the first at Anfield.

I wonder what kind of a reception he's going to get?

How many Utd fans are opposed, and how many are willing to give him a chance?

Redcafe has been down all day for me, it would have been nice to gauge the opinion from there.

He'll get a chance from me, and from most I'd expect.

You'll get a few die hard fans that will say he's an ex 'pool player and 'pool fan so won't want him, but if he scores 10-15 goals next year I doubt there'd be many left.

It's a very small risk transfer and could prove to be a very good one.

And from me. I think he'll quickly win over the Utd fans if he plays with real enthusiasm and effort. ie. not like he did at Newcastle.

His best form was based around his pace which he's lost, he'll still score but he'll never be the player he used to be.

His record under Keegan was 11 in 17 (two sub), that's top form for most strikers.

He just needs a good manager and good service which he got in Keegan's team. Too bad Allardyce/Kinnear/Hughton/Shearer couldn't do the same.

I'm embarrassed to say I'm really quite excited to see him in a United shirt now

May even be the name I get on the back of my new shirt :o

I think all joking aside, not many Utd fans will baulk at this deal. As long as he gives 100% when he is playing for the shirt then he will be given the chance he deserves. Utd fans have never booed their own and I don't see this starting now.

The more you look at it, the more positives there are than negatives, injuries aside. He knows the league inside out and he has a good pedigree in it. Same applies to Europe. It's a world cup year and he will be out to get into that England squad so you know that when he gets his chance he will be looking to take it with both hands (A Point that I am sure Fergie would have considered)

Can't be bothered to start a new thread but here's a trivia question for y'all:

Name the only Hull player to have previously played for Inter Milan.

Current player... still playing for Hull's first team?

I'd have guessed Geovanni but don't think that's right... only other guess would be Bernard Mendy but I only remember him playing for Bolton and PSG before Hull...

Can't think of anyone else good enough =/
