**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Brilliant player but clearly after not even 6 months of playing time has had enough of Arsenal and already wants to leave

Did you miss this bit:

However, it remains unclear whether Lachter is still working as Arshavin's agent as the player claimed last month that he no longer required his services.

"Recently, I sent a formal letter to Dennis Lachter, which said that I do not want him to continue to represent me and that I will act on my own behalf," he said in the Daily Mail.

Dont believe everything in the papers, i wouldnt have thought he wants to go anywhere.

Never worth that in a million years

Have you seen him play? I've never seen the lad. Excited to watch him in the CL.

LOL these tabloids do make me laugh...the last i heard is that Arshavin would like to finish his career at Zenit at some point in his career as they kick started his career.

But if they want him then slap a £80mill price tag on him just for laughs...another agent trying to make a name for himself and failing miserably.

No saw that but it's not the first time it's been said he's already unhappy in England. Besides the quote attributed to Arshavin could be no more fabricated than the one attributed to his agent

Arshavin was never unhappy in England, he was just unaware how much he'd get taxed on his wages, he never said that he wanted to go anywhere, just that it was a surprise, his words got lost in Russian-English translation. Lachter is just stirring things up as he's an idiot, he doesn't have anything to do with Arshavin any more. The press just seem to want to put as much pressure on Arsenal as they can atm for some reason.

He only just sent Arsenal calendars out to all his most active website users, for him to move to Barcelona a few days later makes absolutely 0 sense and for Wenger to sell him for less than £30m would make 0 sense either (Barca have said numerous times they won't pay over inflated fees this summer for players so all Wenger has to do is whack a massive price tag him and they'll go away)

It's all the press, again.

Andrey Arshavin has rewarded the most ‘active’ visitors on his website by sending them a signed copy of next season’s official club calendar.

The 28-year-old was handed a medal for his work in a Russian orphanage just weeks ago, but now the man himself opted to reward his biggest fans.

On another note, seems like an awesome guy :)

28? :/ Its not like he's 25 i know, think there's too much emphasis on players been younger. Arshavin's got 5/6 seasons left in him.

I dunno, he'll lose that pace of his, and while that isn't a big part of his game I can't see him being a starter at a top club for more than 3 years or so, maybe 4. I think he wants to move back to Zenit after his Arsenal contract anyway when he's 31 or 32 to have a steady and adored retirement.

28 is peak. Not old.

How old is Ribery? He is about 26/27 isnt he?

Yeah I know he's at his best right now, but clubs obviously look at resale value as a big factor in transfer fees, and Arshavin wouldn't fetch a large one, in fact, he wants to run down his contract I think
