What age is Vieira now? Must be well past it. Not sure if he would be a good signing or not.
You mean 25 year old, Captain of his country, league winning, FA cup winning, Carling Cup winning, Champions league regular Darren Fletcher?
And 28 year old, done none of the above Gareth Barry?
The only thing Gareth Barry has proved himself better at being than Darren Fletcher is that so far he has proved himself better at being 28 years old.
Hasn't, I dunno Fortune, and Greening probably got some of those medals aswell, and Djemba Djemba, did he win any medals for you. Being at a better team with better players doesn't make Fletcher individually any better than any of the rest. Considering he's never been a first team pick at any stage at Utd to suggest that any success there is largely dependant on him really suggests how much you are reaching.

He is 33 according to the Radio just now.
Someone posted on here that he has only gone down hill since he left.
Down hill in the sense he has won the league every year since he left and has won more league titles than he ever did with Arsenal I think I'm right in saying without looking.
Or is it the same amount 4 vs 3 or 4 vs 4.
Vieira looked poor in the CL last year - his legs are gone and he doesnt have that effectivity in the middle of the park he used to - still as dirty as ever though.
Not a good signing IMO if it comes off - older creative players are fine, Djorkaeff, Larrson etc as they still have tricks - old defenders are a different kettle of fish.

Well, there is talk of us signing Vieira on a free under PAYP conditions.
He's a world class striker based on his goal scoring record in Holland but so were Kuyt and Kezman...
Manchester City manager Mark Hughes says the club are in negotiations to sign Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
"There have been discussions and there is possibly a deal to be done but nothing has been concluded," Hughes said at the unveiling of Carlos Tevez.
Togo international Adebayor is believed to be on sale for about £25m after three-and-a-half seasons at Arsenal.
The 25-year-old, who scored 16 times for the Gunners last season, has also been linked to AC Milan and Chelsea.
Speaking at the press conference to announce the signing of Tevez, Hughes admitted that there could be more arrivals at the big-spending club before the start of the season.
"It may well be that opportunities will present themselves. We still have areas we want to strengthen," he said.
IF and I do mean IF Hargreaves is finally fit again, you wont see Barry start another England game for the rest of his career, what is he going to start doing that is going to turn him into this amazing player?
What does Barry do better than Fletcher?
Bearing in mind what I what I think of Fletcher.
Another "shoot me down in flames" type post (but ive not done badly so far!)
There should be a meeting set up tomorrow by City involving sorting out a Work Permit, believed to be for Adebayor.
(I guess even if its a formality you have to apply for a new one or get it transferred if you change clubs?)
If Hargreaves is fit he's in front of Barry. If not, Barry is there alongside Carrick, no question.
Everything
Tackle, move, pass, head...
