Is the ship likely to be cheaper in Amarr space? I'm in Caldari at the moment, and logic would say it probably will be, but would it be enough to make the trip worthwhile?

I have just finished the career tutorials, is it sister alturo i have to go see next? I want to get all the training and stuff done before i join a corp.

Oh I long for the days on non stacking nerfed 8 heatsink mega pulse geddons :D they were slightly overpowered though :p

Well I reached my preliminary goal today, got from -9.8 to -3.50 security status :) now I ned to decide if I'm going to go for a sec status that will let me into all of high sec or just be happy woth 0.8 and lower.
 
Woo I started EvE Online. I picked Amarr because I like the look of their Frigates and Interceptors, but I like the Gallante Megathron etc. Can I realistically play in Gallante ships too, as an Amarr? I thought each ships make use of different skills more than others? Like Amarr and lasers, which I like a lot heh. Was torn between Lasers or Cooler looking ships :P
 
It's mainly due to bonuses, as most Amarr ships get some kind of laser bonus per skill level. If you go to "Show info" for a ship then it will you show you what skills you need. I advise choosing one races ship and concentrating on them, don't cross train to another race for a while. Your characters race on the other hand holds no significance when you consider what ships you want to use.
 
Besides, there's nothing to stop you putting lasers on a gallente ship. True, most of them have bonuses to blasters or hybrids, but for the ones that don't there's no reason you can't fit a load of lasers if that's what you want.
 
My main char has just finished cross training to amarr, he was primarilly a caldari missile boat pilot. I haven't been on much lately tho, plan on starting up again once I get a new mAchine.
 
Hex mentioned there was this website that dished out cheaper EVE subscriptions. Can anyone point me in the direction of that website if they are aware of it?
(Its some online shop which deals in cheap subscriptions to a plethora of online games).

Can anyone recommend a Raven fit for solo'ing Level 4 missions? So far I can do solo level 3 in the Drake with no problem at all, but trying a Raven in level 3s and it gets battered?!

I've just unlocked a level 4 agent and the Drake simply doesnt do enough damage to kill the BS in there. The Raven I assumed would be more powerful, but on level 3 missions it was spanked and couldnt damage the cruisers using cruise missiles to a sufficient amount!!

In EFT the Raven only does 125dps with cruise missiles... The Drake does that with heavy missiles :confused:

Is it possible to solo level 4 missions in a Raven?
 
Totality - Not sure on setups for the Raven (I've never been good for setups....) BUT I can say the Raven can easily do level 4's when it's set up correctly. Saying that, I would assume the drake would be able to as well. Are you using the right damage types?

Sounds like you're either missing a whole load of skills or are doing something wrong.

I haven't run missions in about 2.5 years, but the following should prove a good starting point (I'm sure one of the millions of raven misisoners will come along and improve it at some point):

Swap the invulns, ammo and drone according to rat damage types. If you manage the aggro right I'd think that tank should be enough for most missions (it permaruns with good skills and with the tractor/salvager off).
