The *Official* Eve Online Thread

That seems like a nice setup and certainly a good starting point, Not run a Raven for a good few years, in fact not played Eve for a good few months, but, personally id use Power Diag. System II rather than Cap. Flux Coil II in the low slots and also id ditch 1 of the Shield Boost Amps for a Target Painter to make the Cruises more effective against Cruisers.

I also prefer SMC rather than CCC rigs, the SMC gives a large Cap, rather than a quicker recharge... Having a larger cap automatically gives a higher Cap/Second regen anyway.

I have got bored with EVE and I am stopping.

Start a thread and do a lottery for items/isk if you want to go out in style :)

Totality - Not sure on setups for the Raven (I've never been good for setups....) BUT I can say the Raven can easily do level 4's when it's set up correctly. Saying that, I would assume the drake would be able to as well. Are you using the right damage types?

The Raven should do L4s solo easily with the correct skills and specific hardeners on.

Or keep your stuff, just in case in 6months you feel like having a bash again, but dont want to start from scratch. Ive been playing since the very early days of Eve, ive left and ressubbed more times than i can remember.

For the ingame fitting system

how do you implement that into the ingame system.

EFT is nice and easy, it just recognises what you have in your clipboard and pastes it automatically. SIMPLES

Do you guys think its worth an armour tank, getting the shield regen & total skills from 4 to 5. About 16 days for them.
Going to get the 4 armour resist skills up after then all my armour skills will all be at 5.

You save them to a file in your eve/fittings directory and then just use the import button in the fittings screen in game.

And as for skills - every little helps

Cheers all. I have been doing level 4s in my Drake which is working OK at the moment. Have to warp out a few times to give the shields a chance to recharge again when the rats swamp me, but they recharge in 100secs so i warp back in again further out and keep shooting until they swamp me again! War of attrition!

Don't have the skills for a proper level 4 raven yet it seems as it gets battered by the rats as they cause more damage to it due to its size.

Im fairly sure size plays no part in damage done? Youre easier to target as a general rule, but thats it i think?

Also, if you warp out and dock, can insta undock and go back to the fight with full shields. They might not show full at first, but its a bug - As soon as something shoots at you, it will pop up to full.

If you're in a smaller ship you can keep up a higher transversal, so if you're constantly orbiting you will be harder to hit, especially as the battleship guns have slower tracking than the smaller ships.

Thing is, there's usually enough smaller ships on the go too in a lvl 4 mission to negate the benefit. It's usually best to just tank the bejeesus out of a BS and get its dps as high as possible with BS killing guns, and leave the smaller stuff to your drones.

If you are bigger, you have large signature radius therefore you are easier to hit so any shots will do more damage than they would if they were shooting at a smaller ship. This is how I believe it works.

All ships have a sig radius...this is the electronic size of the ship...which effects how long it takes you to target it amd what damage it will take dependant on the size of guns or missiles used against it.

There are mods that can effect this, eg Target Painters, active MWDs, implants etc etc

There is a guide on eve website, I think used it a while back, reference damage guns will do against a target.

Might have a looky later see if I can find it :)

Sorry, I knew it made you easier to hit.. But am I right that it doesnt actually increase the damage done by a shot?

Although now I think about it, my arty hits frigates for about ~30, BS' for about 400 on missions currently.. Hmm.. I swear there is more to this game at every turn :D

Thinking of starting Eve up again, where is the cheapest place to get a time card? Pref. send the time code out via email, if that's possible.

anyone know of a hi sec corp that is recruiting and has lots of players on 24/7??

I need to get into a corp where I can make some serious ISK :)

Need to get my freighter and start training towards my orca :)

Cheapest way to get a 60-day timecard I've found is to buy the EVE Special Edition box. Comes with physical media, a manual, a NO DISGUISED SWEARIES! box, and a 60-day "starter" timecard which can also be used to extend an existing account.

Current US exchange rate on Shattered Crystal puts a timecard on there at around £22 iirc, whereas the retail box can be had for around £15-20.

ok all, need a few questions answered regarding PvP as its been a year since I did any.

If you attack in low sec you lose sec status, correct?

If you get attacked and fight back you don't lose sec status?

If you get attacked in low sec, can your corp mates fight back and not lose sec status?

You don't lose sec status in 0.0?
