Fergie probably choked on his Wrigleys in between laughing fits. The only way I suspect Manjoo would even consider taking him is if he actually put in effort again and chased the ball, but then again that sounds highly like a player they just got rid of...

hehe, I think he's very good and has had a hard run, he scored 9 prem goals last year which , considering who else scored similar amounts at the very least means he'll be a good back up/rotation striker, but I do think he has the potential to be very good.

THough in saying that, I think we have far to many players who prefer that support striker role so not sure he'll ever get the chance to play his best role for any length of time. Though a couple times last year we played him as the support and RVP as the further forward of the two and they both played better like that.



Downing's deal completed, utter joke and really signals Villa's intention to not do anything in the future, completely given up on being a contender, which tbh you'd be disheartened at trying to break the top 4 only to have City become the richest club in the world, and possibly Pompie to become pretty rich also. It might not be a bad move to become a lower cost midtable safe club, than over reach to get into the top 4, end up with a bigger squad, higher wage players, miss the champs league and end up in debt. Shame to see it though for me as first half of last season the pure all out attack football was very nice to watch.

I think they also know sans Laursen they can't get into the top 4, and they can't afford anyone anywhere near as good as he was. Could well be Young off and Gabby within a year aswell.
