**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Haven't you been crying over Fabregas for the last few weeks? :p

As for what Alonso's worth; we can argue as much as we like but the only people's opinion's that matter are Real's and Liverpool's and if a deal is going to be done then it's likely to be around the £30m mark.

Hey, what's wrong with creating a little pre-season rivalry? A few irrational comments here and there make things a bit more interesting :p

Wow, great deal from Inters point of view! And FrankJH cant believe you think Carrick is worth more than Arshavin
Wasn't really his point (I think), it was more his price relative to Alonso. Consider instead that under these valuations, Arshavin is half the player of Alonso.

The price for the Eto'o swap deal is still unknown and its just being guess at the moment, I can only hope the valuation is £35mil total and its Eto'o + £10mil or something to make it up to 35 and someone got the wrong end of the stick. ETo'o is simply the better player IMHO and for Barca with the type of side they have a more clinical finisher rather than someone who can hold up well, is bigger and slower and is more tricky, isn't really needed when you have the rest of the Barca team around you.

THough again in fairness, the Hleb part of the deal drags the value down, 10mil of it is probably payment for them to take the useless idiot.

If the figures being mentioned regarding the Eto'o/Ibrahimovic deal are even remotely close then I take back everything I said about Barca not paying OTT.

Ibrahimovic is a very good player but he's not a great player and has proven it time and time again when he's been on the big stage. Possibly the biggest waste of talent of his generation.

edit: and this transfer window has been really boring from an EPL perspective. There's barely been a player signed.

Yes but for the deals that have gone through, you would really think the recession is well and truly over. Who would have thought players like Peter Crouch & Glenn Johnson would go for over £10m a piece. GLENN JOHNSON I tell you, GLENN JOHNSON !!!!!!! £18m of your finest. The world is officially bonkers !!!!!

My head my infact implode, rumours now about alternatives City are lining up if Ade doesn't decide sometime soon. If he screws us out of another big money deal for him for likely his own contract details I'm going to get violent.

I'll get even more angry if Wenger decides to reward him and his agent again with another massive payrise for doing his best to leave the club. I can't understand Wenger anymore, in the years before Hleb, no one of his lack of ability/quality/end product would ever get such a run in the team before being replaced by anyone whatsoever, but he persisted for so long, he's now doing the same with 4 other utterly hopeless players. I still think we could have competed for the league last year if Ade/Denilson/Song were simply dropped and our other players given the chance. I honestly think Barca got him due to Wengers reputation being so good and Wenger rated him highly. Yet seconds into the season he was dropped, he wasn't even 2nd choice when Messi/Henry were out, Keita on the left wing despite not being great there, anyone on the right over Hleb, they instantly saw he was awful, yet Wenger still thinks he's great and didn't want to lose him in the first place.

I still am absolutely terrified we aren't looking at DM's for next season. I mean even without the Ade sale he had cash available and the first thing he should have done is sign 2 DM's. We should ALREADY have 2 new DM's training with the team and starting the game tomorrow, then any money from Ade being used for honestly, some english players, wingers/defenders, to help get ready for the future 6+5 rule, as ridiculous as it is.

Crouch is a bargain and it seems that Johnson may have only cost £16m :p

I would have thought Barcelona do enough for charity by having Unicef on their shirts... what's all this nonsense about Eto'o + £35m + a year of Pleb for Ibrahimovic ffs?!?!!!

You cant say Arshavin didnt make some appearances last season that didnt make him stand out from the crowd.

He also made some where you didnt know he was on the playing at all, and he had one freak game against liverpool.

Remember David Bently once scored a hat trick against united, DAVID BENTLY of all people.

I said at the time he most likely wouldnt score another three goals across the rest of his career let alone another hat trick.
And he's proved himself to be beyond average.

Arshavin is an ok player, but not given any frame of reference is he worth stupid money, I dont see how you are managing to draw comparisons between him and Carrick, you might as well compare him to Ben Foster, thats how different they are.

If Arshavin is an OK player give me an example of some OK players and good players. Because Carrick would certainly be an OK in your eyes then.

And you obviously know nothing about these players if you think they are as different as comparing him with a goalie. Actually do you even know the sport we are talking about? :rolleyes:

If you care to read rather than guess what the conversation was about you will see that the conversation was about the value of the player not comparing of the position. Maybe you should let the growups talk :p

Emmanuel Adebayor is locked in a row with Arsenal over a £2m loyalty bonus. The Manchester City-bound striker says he is owed the cash because he did not put in a transfer request.

If this is true imagine how popular he will be if the deal breaks down and we keep him. Is this the same loyalty that had him sulking all last year because we didnt sell him to barca?

Well, I evidently seem to know more about the game than you do, because I'm not the one talking nonsense.

The only similarity between Carrick and Arsharvin is that they are both outfield players, so therefore, yes, me saying you might as well compare him with Ben foster is wrong, other than that the point stands.
Arsharvin= ok winger withdrawn striker.
Carrick= Center mid.

The closet thing we have to Arsharvin at United is Rooney, who to all intents and purposes is a better player than Arsharvin.

Yes you know more than me because you compare a goalie to a winger/striker lol

Again you jump in without even bothering to read what I said. We were comparing the estimated VALUE of the player not their POSITIONS. Do you understand?

So do you understand how your point doesnt stand as you do not even understand what we are talking about. :rolleyes:

Read what we were talking about and then make a comment rather than try and pick fault and be clever. Then you wont end up looking silly. You are starting an arguement that wasnt there, drawing stupid comparisions about positions when no one even mentioned that subject.
