**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

A ridiculous goal return which Ibrahimovic has matched. Ibrahimovic has even scored more than Torres in the last three season, for all you haters. :p

I happen to think Ibrahimovic will be a massive success at Barca and everyone can quote me on that. ;)

me too.

I am a big fan of Ibrahimovic, even though he can be a diva

I didn't show any hate on him, but as you said, he MATCHED his goal tally, not bettered it, so where do the extra player AND 50mil euro's come into it.

Realistically it should be basically a straight swap, no cash, no Hleb(though that only swings at about £100 either way).

I can't see why Barca didn't just ONLY accept the City bid, then go buy whoever the heck they want, they have cash, obviously. THey could have bought as good a striker elsewhere for way less than 50mil euro's, and made 25mil for Eto'o. Its not like if City were the only option Eto'o wouldn't have signed at 200k+ a week.

Saying that, all told Zlatan scored 31 goals in 59 appearances last year, 25 goals in 35 in the league.

Eto'o scored 39 in 49 games, 30 goals in 34 games in the league. That actually puts Eto'o almost 30% higher on goals scored, while Zlatan played quite a few more games, its not actually that close tbh.

In previous years Eto'o has almost always easily outscored Zlatan and far outscored him in goals to games ratio throughout his career. Eto's been between 29-39 goals a season 3 times, Zlatan has only scored more than 21 goals in a season once, and several under 16 while playing a lot of games in all but one year, Eto'o's outscored him in years he's played almost half as much football.

I'm not going to say he's worth Eto'o plus 50m euros because he's probably not, but he did match Eto'o's goal tally while playing in a much worse team.

I think he'll probably score the same amount of goals as Eto'o at Barcelona and add an extra dimension with his strength, which I mentioned early.

I reckon he's probably worth more than Eto'o but maybe not 50m euros more.

I think Eto'o is a better striker than Ibra.

However, their goal tallies as has been posted here, are nearly identical.

The deal seems to seriously, seriously undervalue Eto'o though. However, someone at Barca really, really wants Ibra and Ibra is a good striker and extremely skilled too. I think he'll be a success at Barca and Eto'o will probably decline a bit at Inter.

In my opinion, they are BOTH worth a lot: two top strikers who perform well. I think because Ibra is going to Barca, he will be worth slightly more than Eto'o as the Spanish league seems to be valuing players very highly this season and because it is Barca after all. I'm really interested to see what happens.

I'd love Eto'o at Liverpool though: he'd be my choice.

I doubt he'll take Disco Bennys place if he continues his form from last season but he could well jump ahead of Hutton and Chimbonda for RB.

That's ok then, because RB is his strongest position. He only moved to LB because Walker was unable to play in that position.

Zlatan's a late bloomer tho!

Zlatan's a good player.

I just don't think he's consistent enough, or has been consistent enough.

Might be it was to do with motivation, he might not have been motivated at Inter.

I don't know, but to write him off as a failure is very harsh, a lot of people are judging him on a handful of games against some of the best teams in Europe.

Barcelona are a far better team, might help him develop and become more consistent.

It's a lot of money though.

I think a new CB should definately be a priority.

Problem Spurs have is that however good King and Woodgate may be, you will never get 80+ games a season out of the pair combined. In 11 seasons Woodgate has only managed over 36 club appearances once, whereas King has done it twice (all competitions).

I'd imagine with the purchase of Naughton however that Redknapp views Chimbonda/Corluka as cover for Dawson in the centre.

Woodgate played in 34 out of 38 Prem games for Spurs last season plus 10 other games in the cups, that's 44 in total. I think he's proved himself in his first full season since he joined us?

Chimbonda is a liability at CB and Corluka is just too slow. Considering Redknapp has just come out and said our main priority is a new CB I doubt that ;)

An interesting summary from GG.net :D

Spurs have to sell Bent in order to buy a new striker......Sunderland are the only ones interested

Sunderland bid 12 million, Levy rejects it...........Sunderland decide to go for Crouch

Spurs get worried, so pretend to be interested in Crouch...........Crouch rejects Sunderland and waits for Spurs

in the meantime Spurs hope Sunderland come in for Bent again, they dont, and Spurs cannot bluff Crouch any longer

Crouch tells Sunderland he wants to sign for them, Harry calls him and says nooooo wait a little longer. Crouch tells him, and Levy especially, to **** off . Harry goes on TV saying he rates Crouch but he will be too expensive

Spurs are left with Bent and no money to buy another striker
