It really depends on what you do most on you're machine. But right now for me its a toss up between these ssd's, the Intel G2's and the Vertex Turbo's.

any reviews of these yet?

these are the first SSD's to really catch my eye, can a mod edit the title so it says Crucial

thanks.

interesting, they seem slightly faster than gskill, maybe they are using a newer firmware. £120 is a nice price for 64GB version. Still can't justify 1 when intel drives are much faster, its a shame they are £50 more though:(

Nice to see ssd's are finally in a competitive market now. Wonder how the new jmicron controllers will perform.

Only thing I dont like about these drives is that there is no jumper. So no firmware upgrades, ever ! :( Sure hope they got TRIM support right from the off or your out of luck.

I should have a power house of a laptop :D

Crucial SSD 64GB for boot 500GB WD for storage.

Gotta love the Dell Vostro 1700's allowing two hardrives :p

:)

is the second drive bay also usable as a secondary battery?

my dog old (pentium M 1.6, 1gb ddr1) D600 has this

it's awesome, between my 4 batteries it has around 18 hours battery

Hmm very interesting indeed, I was trying to decide between the OCZ Summit and the GSkill Falcon 120/128GB ssd's ...now Crucial throw this into the mix :D ...and an ssd is the best way I can make an alround good upgrade now, bare in mind I don't play many games anymore so a faster graphics card is of questionable value really, my old 8800GT is fast enough for anything I do.

Given the way the pricing scales - would it be better to get 2x64Gb or 1x128gb? I'm guessing that the speed increase of the Raid would be nice - but what impact would it have on the random access times (from an onboard controller?)

Do these support TRIM out of the box?

One last addition - come on Overclockers - about to buy this from a competitor - get them in please, please, please...
