I've recently started playing a great deal of online poker, mainly through PKR, however i'm wondering whether someone can help me out on a little query.

What regulation if any is in place to make sure the deals are done randomly and fairly

Although regulated (or I hope it is) I will say this about pkr.com.

1.There appears to be many more times the river or turn will make the lesser hand win.

2. I have had 7 str8 flushes and one royal flush and seen several others. They do say you might go all your life without seeing one.

It just seems that the weirdest results come out sometime. The other week there was three of us left. We had AA, KK, QQ and the flop was AKQ. Everybody was allin. The river was another Q. I don;t even want to try and calculate the odds of that happening (I had KK btw and thought I was onto a winner :()

This is more what I was getting at, 9 times out of 10 if I go all in with a QQ or KK, someone will call it with something low like a 5 7, 9 8...something along those lines and they alway get trips. I've literally counted these occurances and it is a percentage of 90% and higher.

This stuff happens on every site. Poker is a b*tch. I play for a living and rarely tilt, however there is always some brutal run of cards waiting that will make even the most solid player start to doubt their own sanity. I'd advise just taking a break if this happens to you (really wish I'd follow my own advice :p).

When you play for 'free' playmoney you see this happen all the time. I know real money is different, but the cards that are thrown out makes me glad I don't play for real cash.

Lol. I only play the free money games. It amazes me the amount of people who go all in with a rubbish hand. Sure these people would not do it when they stood to lose real money.

itll be on the website somewhere.. whatever people say about poker being rigged, its false..

... aside from the cases where it actually is rigged - i.e. super user accounts at UB

@OP - you're going to be pretty safe with the main sites - if they're regulated by say a gaming commission in the Isle of Mann or the channel islands then you're probably OK - if they're regualted by some native american indians then perhpas less so.

Aside from the odd cases like at UB, there is no way a site would rig results. The poker site wins the same amount in rake whatever the outcome so their objective is always to get more players plating and lose less. Nothing else will make them more money. Rigging results would destroy their reputation and thus lose players. It is a sure fire way to lose business and make less profit.

That's not to say players are not always looking for an edge and will try sophisticated forms of collusion etc.

I don't think the major sites fix anything either as, as already said, they make their money whatever the hands are and if people get ****** off they will go elsewhere.

I do however think that statistically better hands come up more often than they should though.

A royal flush is 649739 to 1 and a straight flush is 72193 to 1

I have only being playing for 6 months so the odds of that are pretty dam high.

Also that hand I quoted earlier (aa vs kk vs qq) the odds of that hand was 6,885,457,100,000 to 1  unless I have got my maths wrong????

I know that every possible strange outcome could come out whatever the odds but if I see that hand again on the same site, I will really start and suspect that the site might be rigged to give people good hands.
