***Official Halo:ODST Thread***

Really looking forward to this. Gonna take the opportunity to grab a 2nd xbox just for Live with this, hopefully there will be some good bundles around. Anyone seen any yet?

I don't want to play Co-op with anyone, I will be going through it on my own as I always do. It would get on my nerves if I am trying to play properly just to have you all trying to team kill each other through out the whole thing, while I'm trying to pay attention to whats going on.

Only time I will do Co-op is to get the achievements for it (if there are any) or to help people out if they can't find an extra person.

I don't remember you getting a choice in the matter ;)

TBH its not all that bad, in spite of Kreeeee and Wingzero's best efforts I still got the most kills, the least deaths and generally was the best player in our Halo3 play through, not sure how. Maybe if the focused on the enemy more than they focused on Team killing me they'd have done better

We also watched all the cinematics etc.

This is due out on the 22nd correct?

Just wondering about the multiplayer disc that comes with this. I've heard it referred to as the 'Halo 3 Complete Multiplayer Pack" online, and I'm wondering whether its just that, OR the multiplayer component of ODST plus all the H3 maps?

By that I mean, will you be Spartans/Elites in the mp disc? Or ODST's? The lack of shields/rechargeable health will really change the mp gameplay imo, making it more like Halo:CE. Might be a good thing, might not?

Anyone know?

Disk 1: Halo 3: ODST Campaign+Firefight
Disk 2: Halo 3 multiplayer+Heroic, legendary, mythic map packs and cold storage

So it'll be Halo 3 Multiplayer, not ODST multiplayer? Do you play as ODSTs or Spartans in firefight?

Will I be able to use a Halo 3 MP disc from this on one xbox, and an original Halo 3 disc on another box and play over lan?
 
It's just Halo 3 multi-player with all map packs included in the box, nothing on the MP side of things is being changed. So it should be no problem using either disc for LAN play.

You play as ODST's in fire fight (or Sergeant Johnson if you pre-order)
 
There is no ODST Versus, which is what disk 2 is for. You play as ODST's in firefight and yes you will be able to play one halo 3 disk against disk 2 from ODST (some maps may not be available if you havent downloaded them).
 
IMO this looks better then halo 3. Suppose it was the quote at the end which talks about the covent (spelling) in total charge and your group has to take it back. :o

I doubt it was any technical or size limitations so my guess is that there is no real reason for being on the campaign disc. I think they are using areas of the campaign for fire fight maps, but again those would be seperate files anyway I would imagine, meaning it wouldn't need to be on the same disc.

You would have to ask Bungie really.

Actually thinking about it they will be using assests such as textures from the campaign for the fire fight maps so I guess it would make sense for it to be on the same disc.

Texture sharing between campaign and multiplayer would be the only excuse.

Size really shouldn't be an issue without Halo 3 campaign so all multiplayer should really be on one disc!
 
Yeah it'll be texture sharing and so that you can install the ODST disk properly without load times slowing down *They have confirmed it will install properly for ODST*
