*** Crucial M225 SSD's Available From £102.99 inc VAT ***

Bah, the intels have rubbish write speeds anyway. :p

Sequential yeah, small random writes they're way out in front. Its going to depend on what you're doing. Small random writes like table updates, search queries and app loading. Then the Intel's are quicker. If you're copying/moving files then the larger sequential writes of the Indilinx wins.

Graaarrrggghhh. I ordered my 128GB at lunchtime today with next day delivery and it wasn't dispatched today.

I have to wait an extra 24 hours to get my grubby mitts on it. :(

I know this. I was joking. I was also trying to justify to myself skimping out on the Intels and getting a Crucial instead. :p

Yeah the lady on the phone said it would dispatch tomorrow. Fingers crossed it actually happens. I have a day off on Wednesday so I can take delivery then. But on Thursday I'm away for several days.

Might give the SSD a test run in the laptop while I'm away. :D

I dont see why you need more than 64GB really. From what Ive seen, loading timesfor games dont really differ between SSDs and say a Raptor or something, so cant be much of a difference between SSDs and HDD for that purpose. 64GB is plenty for your OS...what else you need it for?

Load times are way faster in games than an aging raptor.:p

Because I need all my games in there too. And yes, they load up much faster in a SSD than a raptor. Apparently. I'll find out for myself in a few days.

128GB is actually quite restrictive given my steam folder is pushing 90GB. And that's with some games not even installed.

Can somebody please confim that windows 7 format sets the cluster size to the optimum with ssd rather than manually setting them?
