I am shocked that they still haven't sorted out the insurance on ships in the game.

A 3 million ISK insurance payback for a 25 million ISK stealth bomber is quite frankly a bloody joke! That's without all the modules and fittings. They need to really look at the insurance element of the game.

lol. it's meant to be like that. you get a better ship (t2 vs t1) but you have to risk more.

If you got back insurance to cover all the cost, there would be absolutely no point in flying t1 ships when you've skilled t2.

they need to leave insurance alone. :p

Its a money sink, if the game had no money sinks there would be runaway inflation.

Kinda want to re-sub now too...loved my Huginn and Rapiers, always a good laugh.

Can Manticores fit cov ops cloaks these days? They never used to be able to but battleclinic loadouts show they can fit them and warp when cloaked? If so, I'm going to have to get one!

Yup covert ops cloak...they also swapped the cruise for siege...they have a huge bite now :D especially against BC/BS

That is by design. If you got all your money back from it, prices would for ever rise.

ok strange request here, finally decided to get my command ship, problem is, im having touble trying to work out how to fit it and make it work.

The ship in question is a Sleipnir, any help or info would be greatley appreciated, will be used in small gangs of 2-3 ships.

hahaha
hardest ship to fit EVER!
I used to have autos MWD with a passive tank iirc but it's all changed since then!

yea its a pig to fit, ive found that out, but as im specced in medium sized ships only, its a natural progression to try and use one, sick and tired of using my broadsword and not doing anything.

Highs: 220mm auto's + Nos / Neut.
Meds: Active shield tank w/ large sb + MWD + cap booster and a point if you need it
Lows: Gyro's + DC+ PDS2

something along those lines, if your going for a close range slepinir. Useful rigs could be shield booster cap reduction ones or shield extender ones, Or any of the cap rigs. Have a play around in EFT with something like that not but iirc thats around the bog standard fit.

A few days in and I'm enjoying this game.

I kept getting killed in missions and losing everything, so I've gone down the mining route. I've got a Osprey for mining and a badger to haul. It's not exactly the most exciting, but it's earning me cash until my skills go up.

The learning curve is still steep, no idea what most things do, just figured out drones, so no more pesky Guristas attacking me.

I'm still paranoid changing ships incase someone loots my can :D

I'm doing PvE missions using a Raven with Torps. How come the torps only do 110 or so damage against battleships? Am I missing something? My cruise missiles do more! I dont have any ballistic controls and the mission guide says to use explosive damage which I'm doing.

Would have thought that torps of the same type as cruise missiles would do more damage!

So there i am running missions in hi-sec to fund the pvp alt. I am dual boxing a Nighthawk/CNR/Golem pilot with a salvager and have now started another character to speed up the earning. What's the best character to train in order to assist my main mission runner and hopefuly half mission times?

you could train up a support/logistics alt to do your tanking so you can do more ganking

imo get him in a salvaging destroyer first so he's useful faster, then logistics :) (you could even get him in a cov-ops prober at a later date)

if you fly shield tanking ships etc then ofc caldari/minmatar spec char's are the more useful :)
I fly 2x gank chars with t2 drones for friggies + 1 salvaging fellow to mop up after i've finished pillaging for those extra iskies :P

dont think it works like that does it? i thought if you paid for an account you loose all the time you had left on your trial.

Correct, and this steam thing is just for a 21 day trial, not time on top of that. TBH i would just get the FREE 14 trial from the eveonline website. i wouldnt pay 2.99 or the normal 8.99 steam price for 7 days free play with limiting features :p
