Dell shows its new U2410 display

Having looked at the Japanese link, it's disappointing to see no CF slot on the side of the panel. The bezel is very nice though. I prefer the stand on my 2408 I think.

Been busy, not had much time to use it yet. It's better than the E248WFP, but I've not been blow away by it. It certainly doesn't have the 6-bit per colour issue that the E248WFP has, but it's a wide-gamut monitor, so I guess that means expect funky colours. sRGB emulation improves things, but I think I'd rather have a normal gamut-monitor. It's good enough to keep though.

The stand that it comes with is HUGE, that's going to have to be replaced.

Forgot to say, the capacitative input buttons suck big time. Really hard to get them to click, and the feedback buzzer (which you can mute) is annoying. When the feedback buzzer is muted, it's then hard to know whether you've pressed it or not. What was wrong with conventional buttons?

the only problem i cans ee with that is the response time, 6ms by todays standards is a bit slow, however it is a very small margin so id excuse that. bet its gonna cost some tho!

I was going to buy a Dell 2408WFP. Is this Dell UltraSharp U2410 effectively the replacement model for the 2408WFP? I'd hate to buy an outgoing model.

it is the replacement. There will be a few differences as the old one was PVA and this is IPS. It should be better, but until some more serious reviews pop up...

ok thanks.. i think i'll go for that 26" LG instead.. only 300 quid.. probably not as good but still ips

Those "5ms" TNs without RTC have actual average response time between 13-15ms (best RTC equipped TNs get just below 4ms) so as we haven't seen people beating the crap out especially from "5ms" TNs that specification is nowadays meaningless.

In better panels makers don't have to lie so their values are very close to actual average response times.

2 : Also that they have the same behavior as the fastest 24 inch TNs equipped with panels that have a given response time of 2 ms. In reality, the MB24W and 2408WFP are much more reactive than 5 ms TNs.

Is this just a 24" version of the 2209WA?

Looking at the unboxing on the website link above shows the case and stand are identical. The only difference seems to be the extra inputs.
It's probably the same panel type, only bigger of course.

I'd have to concur with this, the review is extremely scant on details. Hopefully Xbitlabs or similarly tech-minded websites will get hold of it shortly.

We definatly need tft central to grab this dell and the lg 26" ips panels and do a Dell vs LG iPS panel showdown.... just a hint mind ;)

Personaly I know the dell has many more features, but if the LGs 26" and ips and £150 cheaper.....

Hmmm, don't like the sound of them buttons - my current monitor has got slightly awkward RAZR-style buttons. Think I'm gonna go with the HP.
