Latest GT5 info

I just get the feeling that a lot of people are just complaing for the sake of complaining.

Welcome to the internet. The land of arguments that get to no where and mean absolute nothing in the end. :)

The online in GT5p was shocking. Not just the lag (not sure if its all fixed now) but the players playing dirty. Every game I had there were just a bunch of drunk drivers.

yea yea I guess.

Its obviously too much to have debates and such with real reasoning to back up claims. :p

I this likely to be released around the end of sept?

No it could be soon after GTPSP though, during an interview with DailyMotion, it’s revealed that Gran Turismo 5 will release shortly after Gran Turismo PSP. The PSP version is landing on October 1st, so this could definitely mean Gran Turismo 5 will be hitting before the year ends. There have been several reports of a December release, but this opens up a chance of a November release, too

GT series has always caused a load of arguments and fighs, its up their with Halo series, MGS series for people hating.

Id put my mortgage on it being a 2010 release.

wall banging usually only works with cars powerful enough to hit the wall and then use severe BHP to push themselves around faster than they could have previously gone without running off the road (if a gravel trap had been there)

lower powered cars that cannot do this will always lose speed, and then take time to gain it back. hence why i like lowered powered cars, more skill is involved.

I think that Gran Turismo is looking pretty sweet although I was originally going to buy a PSPGo! specifically for that game I don't think I'll bother now though with the difference in price between that and a PS3 slim being so small. I also read somewhere that the PSP version of Gran Turismo will not have any part upgrades, although you can still tune the vehicles you cannot add aftermarket parts to them. I'm not sure wether that was true or just a rumour.

On Trial Mountain when you come out of the third tunnel and go down the long straight with trees overhead, the tight bend at the end there, I've found that I can drive into the barrier with any car and still go around that faster than I could have driven normally. Although it isn't an issue to me because I don't resort to those methods during competitive racing and I think the people that complain about that could maybe just not use that technique. Problem solved.

Well I'm still looking forward to this game, despite all the negative comments around since most of the points are kinda weird, so I thought I'd give a couple of my views..

Firstly, wallbanging? can't people just not go along the walls? - saying that I guess I used to use the walls a little too, but the whole point of playing this franchise is to race realistically? though I'm probably in the minority, I like racing properly, hitting the racing line / apexes etc and usually this is more fun for me.

Secondly the damage, I couldn't care less about, I'll play something else if I wanted that.

Lastly, people mention that the cars always go in a perfect line? - we can't really tell how true that is. This just always reminds me of that F1 Championship in GT3, where you needed to be near perfect every lap.... I found that quite exciting, didn't anyone else? (Sub 55 second laps on Laguna Seca anyone :P)

PS: Sorry, but I quite like this game lol. ;)

As said, in single player you can just not do that but if you race online and half the grid is wall grinding and the other half is driving like they are playing Burnout the fun isn't there.

If I was developing this game I would consider making it so that if you touch a wall it's game over or at least a spin losing you 10+seconds

It will help, but you can't always get a race with friends and it would be nice to be able to get a semi-decent race on a public server.

This is why i dont think damage either visual or internal helps in MP games, every time i played forza 2 round my friends i would say 90% of the games had damage not enabled. You will always have clowns who think they are playing burnout in which ever game you play, just need a good way to make sure they dont affect your race as much as possible. The penalty system in GT5P was a good idea and worked better in spec 3 but was far from perfect hopefully GT5 will improve this penalty system quite a bit.
