Latest GT5 info

Well GT5 will be an instant buy for me just like all the others were :D + Ill have Forza3 to tie me over till this is out personally i dont think we will see GT5 till next year.

Agreed, they really have a good attention to detail at Polyphony. I love the heat effect and seeing the vapour on the track during replays really makes the game stand out for me.

If you look at the first pic on the left http://www.gamersyde.com/gallery_11403_en.html from these you will see the halo type affect on the lense you get from HID lights talk about detail.

From seeing this, I think it's clear that propper damage is an unrealistic expectation from this gen, and probably even the next!!!

These cars look great, the driving physics (admittedly, only when the car is grounded and not bumping into stuff) will be spot on, as they always have been in GT games, and each and every slight adjustment and modification you make will have exactly the effect it would on a real car as we've come to expect.

Sure, there could be something middle ground for damage, something that looks OK and affects the cars a bit, but what we all want and what we've all been expecting is real damage.
Can you imagine if in the first big collision in the vid (17 seconds) the front wing crumpled and the tyre burst?! I'd love it, it'd be amazing, but seriously, can you imagine the power that would be required to show scratches and dents that look as good and realistic as the pristine cars do, not to mention the changes to the physics and aero dynamics that would affect how it moves with panels/spoilers missing, no windscreen, busted tyres/suspension etc.....

I thought that's what we might get from GT5, but seeing the video made me realise, I don't think the PS3 is capable of what we want :(

Just in case people care, a popular american online retailer (who's name I won't mention as I don't know if it classes as a competitor) have put up a release date of May 5th 2010. Not sure on it's accuracy, but it just seems a little too exact of a date to be dismissed (like you could probably dismiss December 31st 2009 as a guess).

heres something that apparently doesnt exist according to eurogamer.

http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3510305&postcount=15

there are also more posts that show that debris left on track.

but then again these are the people who didnt actually play resistance fall of man before criticising it.

Eurogamer and Edge give review sites a bad name now, i used to rate edge but no more, they certainly seem to have an agenda of some sort now.

Eurogamer,Edge and Gamesradar are all biased when it comes to game reviews. Gamesradar are the worst.

I think there are also cases were certain publishers will bribe magazines into giving their products great reviews. I think there was a huge controversy leading to a respected reviewers resignation over on Gamespot due to a review of Far Cry 2 but don't quote me because I don't know all the details.

Seeing as how magazines are dead, they have to make money some how. Thats why I only trust independent website reviews like Giantbomb.com. :)

That was Kane and Lynch I believe. The reviewer got fired for it, and Gamespot lost whatever legitimacy they had as a games review site, IMO.

I for one am looking forward to GT5 no quibbles :D GT 5 Prologue gave a good feel of how it'll be, it didn;'t, to ME, I reitterate, ME! ;) feel quite as much of a sim feel as Forza 2, which is fine, GT has always had its own unique style and flair, I bought all GT games previous, will get 5 and portable for sure, yes, I'm more "into" Forza than GT right now, but god I'm stoked for GT5 too.

Its just the ultimate Autumn/Winter for any racing sim enthusiasts :)

Thats my take anyways, and yes, I know this message will be above the FM3 banner in my sig :p

Tim why should it be a problem if you prefer one or the other, why should you not have a given right to have a preference. I think its always good to mix those over eager with doubters to get a balanced view.
Like you im wondering how the heck i will have time for all the games coming not to mention getting the money for the lot of them.
