Isnt Wolfenstein Released today???

Although chiefly developed by Raven, perhaps because of the implementation of older tech meant a beneficial and therefore quick release of a title that helps to fill in the gap since many fans are waiting for Rage etc. Not sure how long Raven were working on Wolfie for but I doubt it was nothing like four plus years:D

Few quick shots:

I just hooked it up to my plasma with the 360 pad and its a far better experience. The graphics are much improved and the weapon changing is much smoother as they've redesigned the menu for the pad.

Played the SP for around 3 hours and so far is ok. Visuals go from Bioshock's slightly less polished cousin to quite dated in places. The out door farm area was particularly poor.

Gameplay is fairly average FPS fair, the Veil and Veil powers add to the gameplay quite well and you need them to get to certain areas or to pass through dangerous places.

It gets a tad annoying when sniping enemies and you have hit them bang in the head three times and the game doesn't recognise the hit. It also happens durring bullet time, you can move through enemies one at at time pumping two or three point blank head shots and one of them won't die.

All in all it's been nothing more than an average FPS, with more polish and maybe more developement time it could have been a lot lot better.

seta g_unlockedFlameDLC "1"
in the single player wolf config should unlock that for anybody wanting it
Damn. I wanted to tease you all with my super-special-exclusive-limited-edition and your telling me it's not super-special-exclusive or limited? :)

Played it for an hour.

Hate the spawning. I was running around that maze/town area trying to avoid a guard or two & all the rooms I've been in before are full of enemies. Crap.

Playing it on it's highest settings at 1920x1200 and it all looks a bit 2004. The flamethrower fx weren't as bad as I first thought.

I like how you can shoot people in the throat :) Haven't tried the balls yet, but here's hoping.

There's no shotgun? Crap. Haven't bothered buying anything from the shop yet, think I'll save my money for now....if I can be bothered to load up the game again.

Not bothered about any MP.

Well I've played for 4 hours and only just got the third last chrystal for the amulet. Can't say I've got stuck anywhere or spent much time exploring the town, I've pretty much followed the compass directly to each objective.

Unlike COD (which I still think Wolf is virtually identical too) you can run past enemies to reach your objective.

In some ways it has the added frustration of Far Cry 2 as you're using up ammo and time to reach the objectives - I saw one review which indicated you could use rooftops or sewers to evade but I haven't found how to do so yet. And those Mech type creatures take *a lot* of firepower to bring down, not to mention the morphing necromancers.

By third part do you mean the veil shield? Because I have that at just over 2 and a half hours in :/ I have been rushing to complete the game asap :P I have a habit of giving up on single player games before I finish them

Well it took Me about 8.5 hrs on normal settings but i did not find all the gold and treasures. For Me it was an enjoyable Game but TBH I would prefer just the Veil view, like the original cry view in Farcry as I don't think all the gimmicky stuff adds anything as the game is just scripted for the Player to need it.

I don't think for one minute this game was designed for the PC and it shows !, Just hope with the likes of ID abandoning PC titles to the console it's not beginning of the end for PC games :(

For the mech guys, use a silenced sniper and take them out from a distance. I can usually kill them without them even noticing me with 4 shots. (one for the thing on each side and then usually takes me two shots to get the thing that pops up on their back)

The necromancers get a lot easier once you have the Mire shard (I think that's the one) as you can shoot through shields.

Im in a few hours maybe, does it run a little clunkey for you guys in parts ?

No, it should not !, the load and cut scenes are so fast You don't get time to read them, maybe twice as an un-spectacular looking map was drawn fps dropped below Vsync, but I am only running My 4890 around 50% clocks @1920x1200

Check You antivirus is off and anything else running in the background ;)
