****The Playstation 3 Slim Thread****

I'm asking the same question too, whats the best price you've all been offered for you 60gb for trade in...mines a lauch day version and thinking its a good time to get shot of it!

How much has everyone been offered?

To be honest, sell your launch 60gb on ebay. You could get around £200-250 for it. The trade in value won't be as good as selling a launch 60gb with BC.

Best offer i've seen is £200 trade in, selling privately would probably get you more like £250
Have to be honest - the effort/time involved in getting the extra £50 just isnt worth it for me...

Also I presume thats gross and before fees are taken out which makes it even less of a difference?

Guys, Im at work at the moment so not got any access to the normal game websites - if you hear of anything regards to 'proving' the advantages of the Slim over the Phat could you please post?
Looking to pre-order tonight if I get confirmation on some stuff

TIA

ps3ud0

Has anyone used a USB hub with the ps3 ?

i have three leads plugged into my ps3 and with the slim only having two i was thinking about using a hub.

The only advantages that can be proven quickly are the lower power consumption and marginally lower sound output (compared to a 80gig, not a 60gig which is louder in turn than the 80) which were proven a few days ago. Things like reliability will not be known for some weeks/months yet.

i phoned the usual 2x high street places to find a trade in price for my 60gb ps3 a while ago, they both offered like £130.. and that was before the slim was announced:/

No offence but you're not looking hard enough :p

Quick look online has showed me that a trade in store will give you either £159 cash or £198 store credit. Last i heard a popular highstreet store would also price match that so you could end up trading in your 60gb now and walking away with a slim for £52

How much of an expense is it for Sony to add four USBs instead of two. It's bloody obvious two isn't enough. I mean

1) G-Con gun
2) Inferred Sensors for the Gun
3) Card reader because Sony the pricks removed them from the PS3
4) External Harddrive
5) PS3 Camera
6) Charging PS3 controler
7) Charging Keypad
8) Charging Wireless Mic

Well high enough for them to remove it clearly. The PS3 wasn't selling well because it cost too much, they had to get the price down however they could and removing them was something that was a necessary component of reducing the price. It still supports a USB hub, if you bought a powered usb hub (less than a tenner) it would achieve the same goal.

But then, after owning my PS3 for nearly two years now, i can't remember a single moment when i've needed an extra USB port.

All at once? Stop nit picking. Theres way rounds to adding more USB slots.

and you don't need to plug the controllers into the ps3 to charge them. You can charge them using your PC's USB slots.

Yeah, I run a 5m cable to the table next to where I sit and have a powered hub there for charging controllers / use of wired headset and it works fine.
