*** Crucial M225 SSD's Available From £102.99 inc VAT ***

Okay, I have the answer, and it's not making me happy:

"Thanks for the web note. Unfortunately we dont have an ETA at present.

Regards,

Linzi Campbell"

LOL when you put it like that it seems a bit stupid having so much. I'm going to try it in RAID0 though - whether it stays that way or goes into another box will depend on how impressive it is :D

I'm on Win7 but won't have TRIM. At the moment I'm running it via the Intel ICH9R RAID controller because of other HDs in RAID so even with a single drive the drivers don't support TRIM.

I haven't noticed any appreciable difference over the past few weeks and did install as AHCI at the weekend, but performance has been about the same. It takes me about 45 mins to restore from the WHS, so if I need to do that every few months if I see a big difference it won't be a problem.

But not decided if I'll keep it as RAID0 other than for seeing what it will do yet :)

mmmm No ETA. but after looking around i found another site expecting some in tomorrow ... but more expensive

what makes it hard is OcUK take your cash when you order so just have to wait that and i got it at the bargin price now then have gone up

Hi,

Is this an okay score?

Thanks

Thanks. I've done lots of tests tonight including with the 1023's. Also tried different stripe sizes - haven't had chance to upload them yet, but will do tomorrow evening.

Hopefully, you'll find it interesting :)

My drive is on its way :-D glad i am not at work so can get it installed and have a play

Will it come with the new Firmware ?

Very likely to be the old firmware. The new firmware has been withdrawn due to potential data corruption issues so I doubt Crucial will let drives be shipped with it.

If originally the stock levels went low because Crucial were holding back to flash 1711 then it might be even longer now before stock levels are high enough to satisfy demand. Do they hold back and reflash to 1571 or wait even longer to flash to a fixed version of 1711?

Seems to be a general problem with the new 1711 Indilinx firmware in combination with Windows 7, looks like due to Trim and acpi sleep mode.

I think they're going to have issues flashing back to 1571, at least with end users. It may need a destructive flash losing the drive contents.

Meanwhile the best advice seems to be turn off Trim and hybrid sleep mode.

fsutil.exe behavior set disabledeletenotify 1

To confirm the setting is "1":

fsutil.exe behavior query disabledeletenotify

Just a quick question I hope someone can answer

I am turning off my raid just so I can test a couple of things and am wondering what to set my BIOS to, is it AHCI or IDE?
I have used RAID for years so am a little behind with the other two settings.

Please advise
