I had one removed from my shoulder when i was younger, they numbed the area, he scalpeled it out, and sent it away.
Quarterising it was funny, smelt like burnt meat (durr...)
They thought i might be a bit odd, as i had the nurse hold a mirror so i could watch![]()
My doctor has made me an appointment at the local Hospital for an initial consultation for the removal of my mole which is on my face.
I asked my doctor when requesting the removal of my mole whether it would leave a scar. His reply was "well, it will look a lot better than it does now". He smiled but I did'nt.
unique mate, you're not odd![]()
Wednesday I am having the stitches taken out which will be painful (I expect!?)
^ really? you really are putting my mind at rest, thank you![]()

I can post a before and after picture for anyone interested in having this done, I do recommend it, though the incision was slightly larger than I expected, but will heal pretty quickly.
Yeah would be cool if you could post some before and after its healed pics.. The one I want removed is in the shaving area as well.. Can hardy see it but keep catching it when shaving!![]()
Please be aware if you're doing it for cosmetic reasons, they leave a much bigger scar than the mole itself.
I had a mole this big --- removed, I now have a scar on my arm -------------- that big.
Vitamin E cream post removal will assist with healing and will reduce the eventual appearance of scar tissue.
It does depend on how it is removed, some 'moles' tend to have areas which plunge slightly more deeply (think roots) this leads to scaring. If they are conerned they will cut it off, biopsy, often a triangular cut, to ensure all is removed.
Either way, Vitamin E cream after.
