First thing I noticed after installing the patch was how much quicker the menu system and server browser respond now, BF2 would often freeze for 5 seconds or so when clicking the buttons but it's pretty much instant now, makes finding a server to play on a lot less painful...

Yep, much easier to navigate the menu system now, and it is great to play it once more. The new map is interesting also, so I think I'm back to this game for a while!

Only two things- the game says my password is wrong the first time I attempt to log in, but works perectly fine the second time with the same password remembered. Also, the bug where you pick up medic's equipment when revived is still there for me too.

Had a quick game last night but my ping was awful (On O2 Access as out in the sticks and pings seem really bad late at night

)

What is the option in the menu called 'Falcon' (I think that's it)?
Is that for single player?

Could that be your are pressing random keys during the intro video to try and skip it? I had this problem as when you press keys is't actually typing in a password.

Have OcUK got a preferred server we can play on?

It would also be great to get a BF2 clan going unless there is one I dont know about.

Guys do any of you get problems with your mic. I cant seem to set mine up at all in game. When I click on start mic test in Audio options I get absolutely nothing. I know my mic works as I use it in Ventrilo etc...

I cant remember how I got this game but never really played it, I think it was cheap or bundled with BF2142. I have an account but with zero achievments. The when I log in it uses my email as Player name is there anyway to change that? I dont really want my email being displayed on the servers

If not, how unique a nickname do you have to come up with, everything I tried so far was taken.

FOR ***** SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!! finished downloading a few minutes ago, so i thought i'd reinstall BF2 which went fine, tried to patch up to 1.50 and it has a hissy fit and says i already have a newer version -_- , is there something stupid i have to do like install 1.41 first?
