I have never left lights on when filling and the only signage our forecourts ever has is "No Naked Lights" which is fair enough tbh.

My local forecourts know me as I am in there often, priority pump turny onny \o/

I usually use a different petrol station but my miles remaining display said - - - after I'd ignored all the petrol stations on the way into town to get there before the Sony shop shut

Never heard of this rule and never heard anyone encounted it, a local independant near me has the forcourt right next to the pavement, so you have 2 rows of 2 pumps, if you park next to the pavement you can fill up, while the staff stand less than 3 metres away on the pavement smoking and texting yet take one step and your on the forcourt. It often baffles me the mentality of this like they are somehow immune stood on the pavement.

that even my mates mk2 octavia VRS manages it better than that. His comes on automatically for a set number of seconds. But you just change how long those seconds are for.

It's a silly rule. However, she gave you the petrol in the end and you were ready to pay. I don't see how trying to provoke a tiff will help matters. :confused:
