Recommended foreign films

Some heavy films in there, for some light relief you can't go wrong with Taxi and Taxi 2!

Have to agree with La Haine, brilliantly depressing film.

Even if anime isn't your thing definitely watch Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. The artwork is beautiful.

Old Boy is brilliant, and if you haven't watched it, Infernal Affairs is much better than the American remake. Battle Royale is an all time must see film. Generally Hollywood remakes of any Far Eastern films aren't as scary.

REC - great film

+ lights off + No one else in the house + sound right up.

I was terrified

'Oldboy' is a great one to see, 'switchblade romance' for some gore, 'la haine' obviously. Infernal affiars 1 and 2 are sensational, and Battle royale is up there with the best too.

My favourite is 'Versus'. Absolutely bonkers film about some portal being opened so zombies rise in the forest where the yakuza buried them. Madness but soo soo coooool !!!!!!!!

been watching some french films lately,
Amelie

Priceless

Also 'Kashern' is supposed to be very good, havent seen it myself though

Still some great suggestions here I've followed up and queued up in the DVD collection. Why not, when the DVDs generally cost less than a fiver?

Recently seen "Tell No One" and "Let the Right One In" - both superb, the latter especially.

Awaiting in the wings is "3-Iron" which looks like my cup of tea.

People are just repeating films without even reading the thread now, deary me. (Not you simulatorman)

Wasabi, probably Luc Bessons third best film(only joking).

Eden Log I dont think anyones mentioned its a weirdy sci fi film, a bit slow to start but somewhat unique.

Theres also a french film, I cant remember its name but, its sort of in a post apocalyptic earth and these people are living in this hotel and this clown guy comes to stay. A butcher owns the hotel and they normally eat the guests. And theres some weird blokes hiding in the sewers.

That sounds like Delicatessen

Someone already said that, but just to double recommend:

Night Watch (Nochnoy Dozor) and Daywatch (Dnevnoy dozor)
