Derren Brown - outdone himself this time?

First thoughts are he said he wasn't allowed to say the lottery numbers before the BBC. Lies. He is not saying the lottery numbers he is just guessing random numbers so he could, as someone else said just showmanship. Also he very clearly stated there was two camera men bu for the whole show only one camera angle was used. On Fridays show we will see the other camera angle which shows some one writing on the balls or something.

I think as others have said, the screen was split down the middle so somebody could place the numbers on the podium then fade the real podium back in. The camera was swaying but it was very fixed like it was on a robotic mount to simulate camera shake. Could have also been a cropped frame within the shot moving about to look like it's shaking.

Pretty clever tho

I wonder if he told Camelot how he planned to do it in their meeting. If not they're going to be very worried for the Saturday draw.

Remember how in the Speed film, they put the cctv on a loop

Maybe they did this on the left side of the screen. Darren's little whiteboard to write the numbers down was possibly a way to waste time whilsy someone put the correct balls in place.

As someone else pointed out though, camera trickery would be too lame for a Darren Brown illusion.

Going to be a boring show on Friday, one hour of Derren Brown telling us that he had millions of pre-recorded reveals.
There's 13.8 million combinations, if he recorded every single one it'd take forever. If it only took 5 seconds for each combination that's ~27 million seconds or so which is 312 days of solid filming. If he was filming for 16 hours a day then it'd take him 547 days.

It'd be less if he only did 5 numbers and was hoping to get lucky with the last one, but it'd still take him a long time, and more than 5 seconds a go I guess.

I don't think that's how he did it.

Computer controlled camera mount so the frozen left image could be stabilised to the right side of the screen without too much hassle - cameraman who was operating the handheld switches the balls for the correct ones, frozen left side fades into live...

Tadaa...

Maybe...

Hmm this is quite possible. He did mention he hoped of at least 5 numbers.

So maybe he just tried to get lucky with the 6th number.

Remember the heads and tails illusion, where he said he could flip 10 heads in a row. It took a full day of film to hit 10 heads in a row.

That's why I said sarcastically to the person I was quoting, that it would be a boring hour if that's how he did it. :)

All the suggestions so far wouldn't involve a year of someones life. Especially the camera trickery which has been done before by other people. The split screen suggestion could be set up in a few weeks I bet.

Watch it carefully.

The camera goes perfectly still, and its asif it sharpens up abit.

Just after he reads "28"

PS:

Make sure you've made the video full screen and have HQ selected.

Its been encoded the whole upload is full of artefacts, happens to save information. Nothing like that on my recording.

He's done his job when you think about, everyone will be saying how'd he do that.

There are several points throughout the broadcast where the camera became a little more still in it's motion.

Those points being where nothing else is moving and the cameraman has no need to move the camera or adjust the zoom. ;)

The whole time the numbers are being drawn he is covering his mouth, my bet is one of his camera buddies are helping him create the illusion via camera/computer trickery.

Didn't he take 2 camera men in with him? why when he only uses 1 camera throughout?
