Thanks for the heads up about the demo, will give it a go but I won't hold my breath. I've been disappointed in pes for the last few years, but we'll see how it goes.

Good graphics, admittedly.

Does it still play like 22 stickmen on a field? The movements on PES have always looked really unnatural and odd.

well at least this runs nice and smooth and doesn't make foobar skip when playing it. pes2008 did that on higher spec hardware than i have now.

Those screenshot look awful. Look at Gerhard's shorts, looks like he just has rigid cylinders on his legs. Why have all the players got sunken eye sockets? Is this Pro Evo Auschwitz?

Really hope (but depressingly already know the answer) that they sort out some of the stupid issues that are consistent across the many iterations of the games.

I'm not a FIFA or Pro Evo fanboy, I just haven't seen much improvements in the core areas of the game over the last few years.

Just give me the gameplay above all else. Oh and last year's had 'Be a legend' mode which was pretty good, but then I like PES2009 all round really.

Yep exactly, starts off slow with training games to get in the squad and you can designate stat training to particular areas, move clubs etc. This is from last years game though, have to admit I'm not sure what's in this one but I'd expect something similar.

If it does have that and I like the Demo I am sold. Fifa 09 has a 1-4 person mode like this so its fun to play with my bro.

I was a Pro Evo fan for many years, I watched a few games of Fifa09 on youtube and was pretty impressed. I bought a PlayStation 3 the other day and downloaded Fifa10 Demo.. IMHO there has never been a football game made that come close. Its perfect, in every way.. Its the best game I have played for a very long time, its the game that is going to bring people from Pro Evo for good.... you have to check it out and play with it for a few hours. Its a learning curve having played Pro Evo for so long, but its worth the time trust me.

FIFA seemed the 'obvious' choice over PES for 2009 too, but thats only for those with consoles. What about PC users for 2010?

Doesn't have master league though, and master league is the holy grail as far as I'm concerned

That is good to know... took me ages messing around with settings to get it running at an acceptable level.

Had a wee shot of the demo and it's not as bad as what it's been for the past few years. I'm sure the die hard pes fans will think it's great. Much better than fifa 10 on the pc, but not on the console. After playing the ps3 version of fifa 10 the other day it'll be my football game of choice this year. I only wish that EA would get the finger out and make the pc version of fifa just like the console version, except with with better graphics and higher frame rates.
