Batman: Arkham Asylum

I pretty much did nothing but play this game over the weekend (nerd) and my first normal difficulty playthrough is at about 97% completion. All I need to do is get the medals on the three extreme combat challenges but I honestly don't think I'm gonna get those done lol, not Shock and Awe anyway.

Anyone else think that the Joker was way, way too easy? Poison Ivy was definitely the hardest boss fight and even that only took maybe two-three attempts.

A fantastic game though. I look forward to coming back to it after a lengthy break. Roll on L4D2 and MW2!

I'm having trouble updating the game. It seems to download okay, quits the game and I get a message saying "Batman not installed or could not be found. This update installer will now quit". If I want to play the game I need to select no in the Windows Live upfdate option within the game, but this signs me out of Live so I can't save. Any suggestions?

Does anyone know of a way to enable Physx and keep performance on an ATi card, a bit riduculous that we are now getting forced into hardware choice and gaming!

just completed story mode (normal)!

83% completion, 3% complete on challenges, 226/240 riddles solved and got all batman upgrades.

Dont think i can be bothered with doing it on hard, or do the challenges. Great game overall!!

Do the challenges :) You learn the identity of arkham spirit guy and also something happens with the riddler.

I completed the story last weekend on hard, with all the riddles solved. It took all weekend to do it.

This week I've been doing the challenges, I've got all the predator ones and I'm working on the combat ones.

I've also ran through the game on easy in about 4 hours to get the achiements I missed first time around. I think there was only 2: the party pooper and mano-a-mano.

Just got 100% on it :D

Some of those predator challenges are well tough in places

Good game but very buggy keeps crashes to the desktop with a PhysX dll error and the total irony is that when I disabled PhysX its rock solid stable :( (PhysX was responsible for the 3 week delay)

Not sure it has much long term replay value (I have the DLC as well but its 1 tiny challenge map) but still a pretty good game. Fresh take on a familar character and a gaming landmark. Rocksteady own the UT3 engine now all the others including & especially Epic (on their own creation no less ) need to put more effort in as if a new studio can create this then it shows you how the other more established developers have been lacking creativity for a while now.

Eidos deserve big sales on this and I hope the PC sales do not let the side down (2.5M shipped on consoles so far) otherwise the sequel may bypass the PC or be even later than this was !!!!

Not had any errors with physx (have you updated it? it sounds daft even though you disabled it, bits will still be in there!)

About 3/4 of the way through now - is now a good time to go back to the start and get all the stuff I missed or can I complete it and then run through it at the end?

Yep everything is up to date it crashes a lot replaying the challenge rooms for a lot of people on the Eidos forums with the same issue.

You can revisit the entire game after completing the main story mode to pick up any missing collectables but when/if you play a new game on a harder setting you have to build batman's weapons up again from scratch as nothing carries over to the new save game so do all the challenges on your existing character as he will keep all his weapon upgrades etc etc.

Whenever the game is completed though it lets you fully explore forever to gather any missing collectables & or admire the scenary!

So i got this as a free game, batman has been kinda meh for me since after everything after the first 2 batman films.

Will i like this? It is about 64% complete on the download.

The trailer looked cool. But whats the game actually like (sry aint read the whole thread due to potiential spoilers).

How well will it run on max settings you think with my spec (see sig)?

Has anyone tried it with the free 3d glasses?

It is canny good so far, gfx are mint, the joker (best bad guy in batman) is mint and excellent vo by luke skywalker. :p

Only prob is my pad when i press walk forwards i.e stick up it goes backwards and vice versa so using keyboard which is ok but wanted to try pad.

Is there any way to get transparancy aa supersampling on as it doesnt seem to be working in nvidia panel and i hate the jaggies on them bits. :(

Using max settings and at 1280x1024 with physics maxed and 8x aa, i get 43 average fps according to benchmark.

Which pad are you using? Works fine here with a 360 wired pad. Have you checked the options? Pretty sure there are options to invert the look axis but not sure about movement. Also check the launcher as that may have control config options.

I tried the demo briefly with k/b+m but personally feel the game is more designed with the pad in mind.
