nivea extreme comfort shaving gel

So where does one get these 'old style soaps and creams'? I'd love to give them a try, get lots of grief with the supermarket rubbish.

Supermarkets sell both the refil (in plastic) and first time buy (in wood). At least all of the ones I've been to do.

If not, Boots, superdrug.... not hard is it?

I do get ridiculed by girls for shaving like their granddad does though.

Oh right, OK, the way it was worked before made me think they weren't available in supermarkets etc.

Thanks for clearing it up.

basic Emulsifying ointment works best for me. it's uber cheap, very good to shave with and does not irritate.

I think it's supposed to be a moisturiser or something, not sure lol it just works for shaving.

For the absolute win.

+1 for man's soap dish. Teenagers shave with canned goods.

Loving the claims of what men are turning into just becuase they are more evolved than using the average crap in a can from the supermarket. This stuff has been around since the 1850's and its still used because it does a good job.

Quite funny that all the kids are so eager to use new gear that they are missing out on a proper satisfying shave.

In shaving newer is not always better. The old style soaps and creams are still the best way to go. Applied with a badger hair brush for best results.

At the moment I am using Taylor of Old Bond Streets Almond shaving cream. Lovely stuff.
Absolutely correct. When I do shave (rare at the moment) I'm using a ToOBS Sandlewood cream with a badger hair brush. Absolutely wonderful.
