Better graphics on PC or Xbox 360?

That's a load of rubbish, the 3xxx series wasn't even out when the 360 was released. It is more like an X1900 series card. I doubt it's a standard model though.

3400 series is slightly better, you're right. But I was giving a close comparison - the ati card used in 360 is custom.

Even a fairly cheap gaming pc will do better than the 360 at higher FPS, AA/AF and res to boot

True, but as Hangtime said you won't get a PC with Windowsfor the price of a 360 that will even run COD4, let alone look any good.

If you have a PC that can max the game, then it's PC all day long. If not, it's pretty close.

I'm sure you can if you buy old components. I'm able to run cod4 on medium settings with this single core, 6800GT, 1gb pc - You could pick up all the components for under 150 pounds.

A 360 is a lot less than £350...

Yes but it's also a piece of junk that has dreadful graphics at low resolution and unacceptable framerates. Not to mention it overheats, freezes, and dies all the time.

What games have you played that have had unacceptable frame rates? Most of the games that are designed for the system seem to have pretty good frame rates (at least 30+) that don't detract from the overall experience. COD4 in particular ran very smoothly for a machine worth £150. 1280x720 is a low resolution from a PC monitor perspective i agree but on most televisions below 40", at a reasonable distance it doesn't look too bad.

I'd hardly call it a "piece of junk", if it was that bad it really wouldn't be as popular as it is. I play games mostly on my PC by the way, however I don't see anything wrong with playing games on the 360, particularly exclusives. Again, in my oppinion, resolution and ultra smooth frame rates are not always the be all and end all of a game.

C'mon thats massively bias.. the newer models are a lot less prone to overheating (hell my graphics card fried within 2 months from overheating).

To be fair sitting back on your sofa that bad resolution isn't that bad, sitting up close then yes it is.. but it's not designed to be.

£250 or hardware including a case etc and an OS you're looking at a **** poor gaming experience. Not sure what the whole hostility is towards consoles by the PC market (ok games are being designed around them and then being ported, moaning about how it's a lump of junk is a joke).

Before I get called a fanboy for backing up consoles, I own both a PC and a 360 and I do agree a PC is much better, but at a heck of a cost and you couldn't build much better for the price and most importantly ease of use.

Not if you buy 2nd hand. E6600 and 965P board, 2-4gb ddr2 can be found in MM for dirt cheap.... and a 3850x2 can be had brand new for 50 quid...or 2nd hand 4850

To be fair I do understand where consoles fit in, I just despise them as they hold back PC game development and we get all these console ports. Hopefully the nextgen consoles will have better hardware so are not so different from the pc.

That is true dirtydog, I agree completely, i was arguing the price of a decent gaming experience from point zero, ie, no prior hardware.
