I just completed that mission myself. When the PLA start their counter attack are you staying around the APC in the west side of the village?
 
I can't get ingame at the moment but when I was doing it I searched a dead PLA guy and took his rifle with scope. I just sat around the APC and between the buildings picking off the enemy. Didn't have any problems doing it that way!

You only need to take care of the south/south west. Put an AI on the heavy gunner position and watch the clump of rocks on the horizon to the left of the road and the guys coming through the trees on the right of the road. Dont worry about any other direction.
 
Thats my problem though! Ive done that and all that happens is mission failed. If i dont protect the north we get over run and i die/fail. Its not hard just it doesnt work.

The AI should take care of that area. Make sure you do the first part of the mission quickly so you have loads of people left. The best would be to take out the first AT gunner on the left flank when you storm the beach.

Take his AT weapon and head up over the road. Take out the tank rolling in to the left of the farm house. That should save a lot of your guys. Then mow down all the guys at the farm house ASAP.

Run up the hill and dispatch the mortar teams as quickly as you can.

I always do the mission in one of the APC then just sit in the south/south west and switch to explosive rounds....then just blow everyone up as soon as they peek over the horizon.

I wouldnt, just think back the GTA 4 fiasco, virtually every website and magazine says the PS3 version looks better, and runs better, one website says no it doesnt (the dubious Eurogamer) and all of a sudden its a fact that GTA4 runs like a dog on the PS3.
And one thing I can assure you is that it doesnt, I have both a copy on both systems (the step son has it on the 360, and my son has it on his PS3).

As for OP flash 2, it looks like **** on everything, I have it here on PC, and have it on the highest settings, and it looks rubbish, compare it to crysis (a 2 year old game) and its pathetic.

I remember that. What a farce, the game was shocking on the PS3.

Almost.. I asked #3 to heal #4, both headed off behind a building for cover (perhaps it was a don't ask don't tell situation!!) and they bumped into zheng. They shot him and about 2 seconds later i shot an enemy spec opps which completed the mission :o

I'm still on mission 5 with the downed pilots (been taking it slow).

I managed to get to the pilots earlier today but by this time I had lost all of my team (last guy was killed in the village) and Echo team's last remaining member bit the dust at the crash site.

As I began extracting from the village, both pilots (in quick succession) were wiped out a few metres from where they started.
 
i still can't get into this game i did the first mission with friends co-op but then as soon as i went out of co-op to play single player , i had to do the first mission agian. Since then i've been trying to do it solo but i keep getting owned ... and i've given up on it! ...
going to collect dust for sure

Why not trade it in? I did.

The only reason I keep coming back into this thread is to see if there is any news of a patch and if it might make the game better overall.

The co-op was good fun, but I need more than that to make keeping it worthwhile.
