N95 8GB or N96 16GB

N95 8GB without a doubt. If nothing else, bigger battery in the N95.

I agree that the N86 is worth a look.

N95 8GB

Had it since it came out and has worked great! This is despite some really nasty cases of dropping it,one of which was from the window at the first floor of our house and falling on pavement in the back garden.

Ended up buying a secondhand N96 16GB today for £100.....

I do like the n95 8GB better (As i owned an n95 8GB for two years before it was stolen)
But i reckon i got a good buy with this N96 16GB for £100 :)

Wonder if they use the same micro USB standard for all digital camera's / ipods etc one day...

probably everything other than Apple products (because apple say "**** off" to standardisation) will use MicroUSB soon. microUSB is favourable for expensive products because it's smaller and the retention mechanism is built into the cable rather than the device, which means that when the retention mechanism is shagged, you just need a new cable, rather than a whole new device.

<edit>, quote from wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Serial_Bus said:
The newer Micro-USB receptacles are designed to allow up to 10,000 cycles of insertion and removal between the receptacle and plug, compared to 500 for the standard USB and Mini-USB receptacle. This is accomplished by adding a locking device and by moving the leaf-spring connector from the jack to the plug, so that the most-stressed part is on the cable side of the connection. This change was made so that the connector on the (inexpensive) cable would bear the most wear instead of the micro-USB device.

for the record, Nokia's have been coming with Micro-USB cables since 2007 :)
