The all encompassing BNP thread - keep all crap in here.

How lucky the British people are that they have the good old BBC to decide what we can and can't hear. They decide to censor Nick Griffin's reply because they've decided it casts him in too favourable a light. Blatant, unapologetic Stalinist/Nazi style censorship.

It's not censorship as it was transmitted in it's entirety, selective in subsequent coverage of it with editing made to discredit him I'll give you.

All politicians are in it for themselves and none can be trusted. They always say what the public wants to hear until they get in power. First thing they do when they get in the office, they look for the perks and benefits they can all personnally get.
When Straw was challenged on the immigration issue, he showed his true colours by waffling on about something and not giving a straight answer.
Same with the Tory Muslim lady, saying she didnt agree with homosexuality.
Every politician are smiling knives, just wanting the power.
Jeremy Clarkson would sort it all out fairly :D

Way to dodge the question. You'd make an excellent politician.

Just because the highlights may have omitted the reply (I only say may because I haven't seen them), doesn't mean the original show did. We know what Nick Griffin's reply was. Care to answer Dolph's question?

Just another excuse in the long line of litanies as to why the BNP aren't as popular nationwide as they 'should' be.

It's all a conspiracy!! Even their written constitution which says they want to restore the 'white ethnic make-up' of the British Isles is just a liberal conspiracy to make the BNP 'seem' racist..yes, that must be it.

Besides, it's a bit rich to see a BNP supporter complaining about spin, have you seen how pathetic the BNP website is?

Example - when they were forced to change their constitution, apparently it was because Nick Griffin 'outmanoeuvred' the Equality Commission by, in a 'surprise move', accepting everything they requested. Good outwitting Griffin, top-notch!

Straw is a hypocrite, remember his comments on the Muslim veil?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/5413470.stm

I agree with his comments there, but he only pays lip service to it, because in the next breath he is pandering to Muslims and castigating the BNP for daring to suggest that Islam isn't a very nice religion.

Yes Straw is a hypocrite. However, he and Nick are both wrong for different reasons i.e. Griffin made a good point about Straw and the invasions into Muslim countries.

Islam is no less a "nice" religion than Christianity is, its just that you want to keep religion and state seperate. I don't want a Christian Britain and I don't want a Muslim Britain, I just want a Britain where you're free to practice any religion and are free from religion. A Christian Britain (what Nick wants) does not allow people to be free from religion and it doesn't allow freedom of religion.

Also, you're wrong for connecting religion to the veil.

So it's ok to publish a lie without challenging it then?

Or is the BNP's constitution a lie?

Perhaps we could run the next debate under Oath...

The constitution on their site was obviously edited by a BBC sponsored hacker..

LOL cry me a river. Seriously. They invite him on the show, despite requests not to and despite the protestors outside their buildings and you professional victims cry censorship anyway. Its pretty weak.

Nope, apologies for any confusion, I was referring to the forum's best-known professional complainer and incidental BNP supporter :p

So we are in agreement about Jeremy Clarkson leading the country then. Boring sundays must always have fast cars and things blowing up :D

Just as well they have the full programme available on iplayer. As well as a myriad of resources on the internet such as youtube and the like.

But of course I'm the sure BBC are making Goebbels proud.

People who watch only the highlights clip will get an entirely false impression, that is all I am saying.

Despite the oppositon Griffin faced I cant help but think of similarities with Hitler in his early political days. He faced opposition but he overcame it over a period of 10-12 years..

Hmm hello that tory bird lied her head off 3 times in one min.
So if your going to have a go at least mention the other liers ;)

all the tv coverage has been very biased, where are the clips on his views on immigration and islam? These two points I think he made some valid points but as expected this has been ignored by the media.

Wikipedia said:
National Front organiser Martin Webster was openly gay and in a four-page leaflet written in 1999 claimed to have had a homosexual relationship with [the sixteen year old] Griffin, then the BNP's publicity director. Griffin has denied any such relationship.
I am rather surprised that Nick Griffin hasn't managed to get this outrageous slander on his sexuality removed

On the other hand, it does perhaps give a clue as to why he feels so uncomfortable about homosexuality ;)
