The all encompassing BNP thread - keep all crap in here.

Does anyone have any idea how Nick Griffin earns his living?

He was privately educated, for some strange reason attending a sixth-form girls school. He studied History & Law at Cambridge, getting awarded a 2:2. So far as I can tell, he has never had any sort of paid employment other than as a politician.

I assumed that he must have rich parents but I can't find any information as to how either his mother or father earned a living either?

It seems that his wife was once a nurse and he seems now to have to support an unemployed wife and four children; all seemingly without ever having had a proper job.

It appears that Nick Griffin's father was a very senior freemason . . . perhaps they have funded his rise to prominence?

I'm saying your judgement seems to be poor with regards to which parties and policies you believe should be enacted. As such there are times when I wonder if there should be some sort of qualification to vote beyond what there is now, given that some people keep consistently making very bad choices.
.

in your opinion, I reckon its your bad judgment for not supporting BNP, I guess you are Lib-Dem? Is that correct?

Not really, given that the majority of the public voted against Labour (Labour secured 43.2% of the vote in 1997, 40.7% in 2001 and 35.5% in 2005). The parliamentary majority was a result of the electoral system, not a majority of votes.

Well if the 43.2% had been baned from voting I reckon the 2001 result would have been a little different hey?

.

Do all the readers at the Times who, apparently without exception agree with her comments, have a long-running vendetta against the BBC too? ;)
I am not quite sure on what you base your claim that "all the readers at the Times apparently without exception agree with [Minette Marrin's] comments"

If this is based on the fact that 64 people who have posted comments are also so critical of the BBC, I would have to say that
  • absolutely anyone (even a BNP fanboy such as yourself) can submit a comment
  • the site is moderated - i.e. censored

If News International were all that keen on airing the BNP's odious view, they could always offer Nick Griffin the opportunity to put his point of view across on Sky, couldn't they?

Maybe they suspect that advertisers wouldn't be keen to be in anyway associated with the BNP who will as a consequence have to rely on the fair-mindedness of the BBC instead.

According to his Mother-in-Law, not a day of honest work

Not really, the lib dems are too big on punishing the successful economically, too vested in the current idea of the EU and not clear enough on the need for good lawmaking practices (ie reduction in proven harm and removing pointless but popular laws) for my liking.

The Tories are better economically, but worse socially, however they may well end up getting my vote because we need some serious economic management following the last 12 years of Labour government so the debt they have built up doesn't hang around the next generation's neck.

Unfortunately my general views aren't very popular in the UK, too much emphasis on personal responsibility and not enough pandering to the entitlement culture which is endemic in our society.

Well if the 43.2% had been baned from voting I reckon the 2001 result would have been a little different hey?

I notice you snipped the bit where I said I didn't want to ban people from voting, or for voting for specific parties.

There is perhaps a discussion to be had about whether choice, or informed and reasoned choice, should be the basis of government, but that is probably for another thread.

Reluctant though I am to quote ANYTHING from the Daily Mail, there are some cracking quotes to be found here - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...Ps-Nick-Griffin--wife-thinks-hes-oddball.html.
...
I have no doubt that The Daily Maill will be hearing soon from the BNP's very busy libel lawyers and this article will soon disappear so thought I might post a few quotes for posterity ;)
Griffin emerges as more than just an odious racist. Yes, he is clever, cunning and capable of delivering his racism through carefully articulated argument. But he is also dangerous and deranged - a man whose personal Utopia is for every white Briton to embrace national socialism, Griffin-style, and for every non-white Briton to leave these islands.
...
The BNP accumulated nearly a million votes in the 2009 Euro elections, partly by exploiting Winston Churchill's memory. But when I asked Griffin if he admired or respected Churchill, he responded curtly: 'Not particularly, no.'
...
Nor is Griffin a democrat. He boasted to me that an armed struggle may be necessary should the party not win ultimate power at Westminster through the ballot box. 'If the BNP were banned,' he argues, 'people would have a right to take up arms, a duty to take up arms: the only way to preserve ourselves will be by force.'
...
'There is a strong, direct link from Oswald Mosley to me' Griffin claims.
...
It was [his father] Edgar who taught his son the politics of race, but no encouragement was needed. Nick quickly spotted the Jewish boys at school. A favourite game was 'counting black people on the streets from the car window when my parents drove through London'.
...
At 13, he studied Hitler's Mein Kampf, making notes in the margins. He thought it boring, but found the chapter on propaganda 'very useful.'
...
Eventually, during our many hours of discussions, Griffin conceded to me: 'Yes, Adolf went a bit too far.'
...
He described Lord Carlile, the man responsible for Griffin's 1998 race hatred conviction, as 'that bloody Jew'.
...
The Chinese, he told me, are 'ruthless, wicked'; Indians 'dirty and smelly' and Muslims 'evil'.
...
Griffin also alleged that Michael Howard, the former Conservative Party leader, had lied about his grandmother who died in Auschwitz - crassly and incorrectly informing me that Howard's 'granny had survived being gassed three times'.
The following is a summary of alleged comments about Nick Griffin by his adoring wife Jackie:
'My mother thinks he could do with a damned good slap,' she confided in me, adding: 'Nick's parents taught him that the sun rose and set in his a***. He never had to do anything at home and was told he was always right, he can do everything and he's wonderful.'
...
'Nick was an oddball, never part of the gang.'
...
'I thought he would grow out of it,' says Jackie. 'I was earning money, he wasn't - what a fool I was. I worked my a*** off trying to keep us going,' Jackie moaned. 'I've been... working to keep us going financially and bring up four children while he's spent his time playing at stupid politics. To Nick, it's all a game.'

This article is based on material collected by Dominic Carman for an unauthorised biography of Nick Griffin and is well worth a read.

Sounds like David Cameron, Gordon Brown or Tony Blair then?

The BNP isn't flush with cash as their failure to challenge in court the establishment's decision to force them to accept non white members demonstrated, so a failure to sue for libel doesn't mean an acceptance that the allegations are true.

If the main three parties didn't have an 'absurdly unworkable' policy on immigration, the BNP might not have risen to such prominence.
So where are the country's public health, social care, economical e.t.c. ideas/policy from the BNP? Just capable of sorting out immigration and going round and round in circles about a 'native British', especially wanting to turn Britain to how it was before 1948?! I know they mean in terms of population of 'Natives' to everyone else but I can't help but wonder, how far before? Stone age, as even suggested by Nick Griffin's Mother-in-Law comes to mind.

The BNP isn't flush with cash as their failure to challenge in court the establishment's decision to force them to accept non white members demonstrated, so a failure to sue for libel doesn't mean an acceptance that the allegations are true.

You don't need to be flushed with cash to be able to sue an article who is false, especially on a personal level - bring on the EU human rights clause and I'm pretty sure the BNP can sue them for personal attack / falsification IF it is indeed lies?

By the way, I can't help but notice you're VERY quick to jump on behind ANY articles that are against the Lib, Lab, Con and the BBC (especially anything against the BNP or 'true' about the BNP) but when it comes to articles against the BNP or positive about the others, you're quick to hold judgement?

There were some WW2 veterans on Sky News earlier a couple of them voiced support for BNP, I imagine it must hurt to fight for your country only to see it become unrecognisable in a few short decades due to out of control immigration and a lack of encouragement/willingness to integrate.

What a crock of excrement, there is not a word of truth in that statement.

" fight for your country only to see it become unrecognisable in a few short decades due to out of control immigration "

That is the most incorrect and absurd statement I've read in this thread. NAd it is a great insult to all those who served in WW2.

Andy McNab and Simon Weston feature among veterans in a new campaign video attacking the BNP for cynically exploiting the sacrifices of fallen heroes for its disgusting political ends.
This campaign video is part of Operation Stolen Valour, the new campaign from NothingBritish.com, which seeks to stop the BNP from exploiting the good name of the British Armed Services. On the NothingBritish website you can download Stolen Valour, a new report exposing how the BNP has been doing this and suggesting what can be done to stop them.
I believe that despite hijacking his name for electioneering purposes, Griffin was not a great admirere of Churchill. It seems that Churchill's grandson isn't a great admirer of the BNP:
Churchill's grandson, Nicholas Soames, said in May this year: "They have behaved in a disgusting manner. They should not take my grandfather's name in vain. He would have been appalled by their views and the way they claim to represent the wartime generation. It's nonsense. Were it possible to take action, we would. We find it offensive and disgusting."

At first I thought dirtydog and co. were just moronic for their views towards this country and it's parliament. But now I understand they truly believe their views and it's most likely down to reading this rubbish everyday.

I don't read the Guardian so I can only go on the link you provided.
I would have thought it obvious why the Guardian showed that leaflet the way they did, to save valuable writing space by `cut `n` pasting` Nick Griffin's details under the Question Time leaflet banner. After all, he was the only person on there who was worth mentioning.

I don't see what the problem is.

The leaflet was orginally posted in the Mail and not the Guardian in an article about QT being a BNP witch hunt (I disagree, it was more a Nick Griffin witch hunt). It specifically stated in the article that Nick Griffins name had been placed first to give it prominance. Basically the Mail lied to sex up a story somewhat. No real change there then.

Tony Blair was a barrister for 7 years before becoming an MP, Gordon Brown was a lecturer for 4 years and then a journalist/editor for 3 years, David Cameron worked as Director of Corporate Affairs at Carlton Communications for 7 years.

Nick Griffin on the other hand, I believe has never worked outside of politics.
